All that tariffs decisions/changing is too complex for me... it'd lead to too much anxiety. I remember the days when you got gas and electricity - and didn't have to do any faffing!

I get the feeling that a lot of privatisation is about creating winners and losers.

So... The dress is back. Now mot too smalll but still not very happy :( (there have been tears). Can't completely undo alterations as scissors had been used. Looks like the weekend will be spent re-sewing to make it look slightly less like a pig's ear. Should have just done it myself in the first place!

Edit - today I booked a haircut for Wed. That will be put back a week as I need to make sure my hair covers an ugly dart. Rubbish :(

I've finished being ill, I've written all my reports for school, and I'm trying to catch up with the thread. Thanks viva for creating the new one. :)
Breakfast in bed...... never had it.

Who of the NP has ever had breakfasst brought to them in bed?

LNE and I used to do it for each other's birthdays, and take it in turns to do anniversaries and Valentine's day. Once we had kids we added in mothers' day and fathers' day. After he left, we still used to organise the kids (small then) to do it for those occasions (well, not Valentine's day, natch). Now he's dead, the kids are big enough to do it by themselves, and I get it for my birthday and for mothers' day. :)
For the record.... most of my festerings have now disappeared. It's looking good.... finally. Had it months!

Good. V pleased to hear that, PN. :)

    woo hoo :) i turn 33 today!

Belated happy birthday, missk. Only another 4 months and you'll be a third of a century. I had a party for a third of a century, but that was nearly 10 years ago now.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Finally found a bus name that could be doable .... domain available, but somebody's using it on Etsy and not actually doing anything with it.... looks like they joined 6 years ago and haven't been back since.

    Annoying.

Edit: Think I'm onto something that might be available .....

Edit 2: Right .... I think the name is cute, can be appropriate, it lends itself to easy branding/logo. It doesn't exist on etsy, ebay, facebook, Wordpress.com, hubpages, blogspot.co.uk or blogger.com .... and the domain is available.

    Shall I:
[a] Fanny about, never get round to it, be full of indecision and fear?
Just register the bl00dy domain, register on Etsy, register on ebay, register on facebook and be done with it?
    [c] Other?

Must repeat that mantra to myself to stop myself posting something I may regret on another thread....AAARRGGGHHHH

Amazing how words on a screen can make someone feel like poo on a bottom of a shoe, mind you, probably a bit more sensitive than normal at the moment as it has been non stop problems with the boys (health and educationally) for the last month and I am bloody exhausted!

Grrrr on your behalf. If you need to vent about the boys' health and education stuff, go ahead. We're here for you as always. :)

A good friend of mine is a DJ (of the non-kiddy fiddling sort) and so his boyfriend threw a party for his 33 1/3 birthday.

Last birthday party I had was when I was 10. Local kids round for sandwiches, orange squash and a cake no doubt.

Didn't have an 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th... or anything in between. No engagements, no weddings.

The real danger of course is the cantilever effect when you let it swing freely. It could knock an idiot right off a tall pair of stepladders. (I err guinea pigged the idiot role, just to prove this you understand ;) )

We like stories such as this as they make my husband realise he has competition for the Darwin stupid bloke witha ladder award.

Usually this thread is my guilty secret but I have just read this post out to Mr Spirit, who was the genius who propped a long ladder up against the house from a slippery path, did not secure the bottom of it in any way before climbing to the roof on it. The ladder then slid down, Mr S dropped like a stone , landing on his feet incurring impact compression injuries. In those days there was no one around during the day however on this occassion a neighbour heard and called an amulance.
