I'm checking mine at least three times a day now, for the last couple of days. I plan to have one of us check it while the other tries a bath later too. See what happens.

I do not understand it, but I know it's funky somehow,:D

    Heck, 3 times a day? :)

A suggestion. Don't go and install a system where you can monitor things from the web. Down that road lies the path to obsessive behaviour :rotfl: (as I know alas).

:). I could never get that interested in heating. I just want a system where I know it works, I know how to maintain and I have it serviced and they tell me what needs them to do what.

The other problem is the manufacturers quoted efficiency is probably optimistic and tested in ideal circumstances.

The installer would never get that in the same way a car driver doesn't get the quoted MPG in real terms. He was probably comparing it with other types he had measured and confirming it was a top performing fire in real life situ.

Lir, it sounds like you need to get advice from the manufacturer. They should be able to have their engineer look at it and tell you if it's installed properly, how to install it properly or if there is a problem with the hardware.

I think we will be. In fact mufacturers engineer did come during first install and seemed happy with what was done so far. Next step I think is slightly different, but fair. (independant assessment of the goods and installation).

ATM I am getting unhealthily interested in the pressure guages on mine. I don't know how, but somehow I think they are indicative of a problem. The one that included the tank and the rads has been swinging from o.2 (when I refilled it, I know from gdb and ...was it all the Ss or zag helping me before, that it should be at one maybe one and a half) but it has swung up to over two at times. Christmas eve it was heading up towards two and a half so I coerced dh into helping me get some water out of the stystem to reduce the pressure

Our pressure kept rising and the pressure relief valve kicked in at 2.5 and releases some water to lower the pressure. When the heating is off the pressure then dropped below the "magic" 1, so I would top up. This went on every few days for a few weeks. Once I called someone out they diagnosed a faulty expansion vessel. Guy said eventually the expansion vessel would be full of water and heating would fail.

    So my questions would be:

    1. do you have a safety pressure valve (that works)
    2. why is the pressure dropping - it suggests a leak somewhere or a faulty part.

The heating aspect is satisfactory now. (bar this strange pressure issue) it seems to be working consistantly (in fact twice the house has been far too warm for my tastes now). But the suggested ATM is that unlike what we were told we may never be able to have the ch on at the same time as a bath (obviously not suitable in a house where really we need two showers away through winter and barn making out) and also, we are not getting bath full of hot water, which they say is importable, but it's what is happening.

Alternative option may be to put in a boiler to supply hot water only and leave the heating to the existing set up.

I now have a full blown cold. Struggled through yesterday with family dinner at aunts, couldn't decide whether it was unfair to inflict my then developing lurgy on others or whether everyone just gets on with it. As it happened there were at least 3 others there with clear symptons of one sort or another so no offence taken. Have cried off today's outing.

Well, not really. Fuelingions costs enough thanks, space is not avalable and straightforward lack of desire to! The boiler we have is a beast and should be doing it. Plus, more pellet loading and buying.....n'ah. If its not what we were sold we will tackle it on that basis and go back to the drawing board for a more suitable plan for us.

Given the tablet idea the body-swerve. Couldn't figure out what it could do that laptops and mobiles didn't do already.

But have another expence coming up. Freeview box died so I've got to find out about "Freeview Plus" ie freeview you can record. We've got a big ariel in the loft so reception should be good. Already got a couple of working freeview boxes. Now need something that can timeshift programmes so we can dump the cable TV.
Silver, did you mention abandoning cable phone some time ago? May I ask how far did you get with that?

Silvercar, hope your cold is over and out of the way faster than mine.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
