ATM I am getting unhealthily interested in the pressure guages on mine. I don't know how, but somehow I think they are indicative of a problem. The one that included the tank and the rads has been swinging from o.2 (when I refilled it, I know from gdb and ...was it all the Ss helping me before, that it should be at one maybe one and a half) but it has swung up to over two at times. Christmas eve it was heading up towards two and a half so I coerced dh into helping me get some water out of the stystem to reduce the pressure.
I am not looking forward to dealing with people about this after the Christmas break. I think they know it and there plan is to wear us down so that 'we have learnt to live with it' is good enough instead of , it works how it is meant to'.
I also have a mild concussion from the lid of the pellet hopper crashing down on the back of my swollen bonce. Ouchy.
In your position I'd be contemplating the nuclear option: get someone else in to fix up this idiot's work and billing it back to Plumber #1.0

Plumber one had never seena unit like this before (but we were told he had, he told me because he felt uncomfortable that lies were being told). My issue is with the company not any one tradesman. They had a second plumber come and re fit it completely, ina totally different way on Saturday. It's no better since. He has done one before, in a farmhouse in Somerset, and reckons that one works.
The heating aspect is satisfactory now. (bar this strange pressure issue) it seems to be working consistantly (in fact twice the house has been far too warm for my tastes now:rotfl:). But the suggested ATM is that unlike what we were told we may never be able to have the ch on at the same time as a bath (obviously not suitable in a house where really we need two showers away through winter and barn making out) and also, we are not getting bath full of hot water, which they say is importable, but it's what is happening.
Tbh, i am beginning to regret doing anything. I know it's miserable being cold, but at least I could have properly hot baths on the immersion.0

Despite all this gas safe registration and stuff LIR there are a lot of heating people who think "it seems to work okay , therefore it must be right". Your experiences are not isolated.
Our gas fire was supposed to be 85% efficient. When installed he measured it at 77%. The response? "That's still pretty good, good enough I reckon".
Oh, I aim for 1.5bar on the pressure guage too. 0 0

Much prefer the cold myself. Never happier than when trudging through snow. Not for skiing or anything but just because it seems like the right background temperature. Love visiting Canada.
I love the cold (ice and snow) and the hot, something like Central Europe (Kracow?).'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Gas safe doesn't apply, it's the m whatevery do dakkies for this heat incentive renewable business. The plumbers are gas safe, but the person who is mean to be the conductor, the overseer etc is not a plumber he is a registers m whatevery what's it.
I'm checking mine at least three times a day now, for the last couple of days. I plan to have one of us check it while the other tries a bath later too. See what happens.
I do not understand it, but I know it's funky somehow,:D0

DW was teling me about Piers Morgan getting in an an argument on American TV about gun crime. Telling them a few home truths they didn't like the sound of it seems.

I think he is winning that argument with a petition for for deportation now up up to 69k out out of 300 milllion.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. The other problem is the manufacturers quoted efficiency is probably optimistic and tested in ideal circumstances.
The installer would never get that in the same way a car driver doesn't get the quoted MPG in real terms. He was probably comparing it with other types he had measured and confirming it was a top performing fire in real life situ.
Lir, it sounds like you need to get advice from the manufacturer. They should be able to have their engineer look at it and tell you if it's installed properly, how to install it properly or if there is a problem with the hardware.0

Our delayed christmas means that we have opened presents and have turkey in the oven now

For Christmas, I have received a flying lesson at Shoreham airport and a deep fat fryer. Mr kool got a sat nav and a dualit toaster (thanks to gdb222 for his advice on this!). I think he wins on the present stakes...0
