    It's grim out there :(

Hope GDB had a lovely birthday, sorry for missing it out.

Quick question as there are lots of OZ's on here. Friend's husband died in car accident in Canberra, funeral is later today or now. I was going to paypal AU$50 to another mutual friend who can sort it. Is that enough for some flowers or should it be more? They live in Sydney.

I don't actually want flowers but just to give her a little something as they have a 6-month + and she's still on mat leave.

Tomorrow's my birthday. I got my 60+ travel card last week. DW has insisted that we have a party on Sunday. Sorry I couldn't invite the NPs, but I'm not sure that DW would understand.

    Happy 60th GDB :bdaycake:

Always thought you were younger than that

A happy birthday to ye GDB. Congratulations.

We went food shopping today for Christmas Day as I'm cooking for 22 so need to have everything under control. Stone me, what a nightmare that was! Costco was heaving, it was horrible.

In other news, I've got a foot long lizard living in my garage it turns out. It was living in my front garden but has decided to come indoors for the summer. I think it's eating the spiders in there as there are far fewer webs.

Last week DS was a rather uninterested shepherd, Monday (and Tuesday) DD2 was a lost camel sidekick and Wednesday DD1 was a very good (he says modestly) Baboushka (surely you all know that Babouska is the main character in the nativity?).

All days this week were worked but no I am off till the 31st (lots of painting to be done). I was due a physio appointment today when I was hoping my lower back would get sorted as I still can't stand straight or walk normally since I hurt it whilst coughing with the fllu 2 weeks ago but that is cancelled - I wonder where the physio caught the flu?!

Having been a bit out of things with the flu/recovery Christmas is a little behind schedule so a lot of supermarkets and Argos over the next few days - I am wondering when the right moment for 'whoopsies' will be?
    I think....

Xmas day I am cooking traditional dinner just for 5-7 which I can handle.

Boxing day I am cooking for siblings and families (17). I am going to do boiled bacon/gammon and mash. That trimmings/extras would people recommend? I am thinking may be some apple sauce, mustard and some sort of jam based gravy?

Gammon and pineapple go well. That's what I always have with mine.

Parsley sauce is traditional with ham. It's white sauce (sauce bechemel) with loads of parsley chopped and added near the end of cooking. Just make sure you cook the flour properly, it needs 10 minutes minimum.

Personally I'd glaze a ham/bacon joint for sweetness rather than having a sweet sauce.

I thought he was around the same age as me!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
