New issue for the NP to sort out for me.... laptop keeps black-screening and I have to reboot. Did the battery test and it says I need a new one. Looking for best price/availability for an HP battery. Little sticker on my screen says this is a 6735s (looks like an 's', it's small and dark and I'd need glasses and a good light to see better).

Having big disconnection issues tonight, spent more time offline than on :(

    Here you go:

    http://www.charger4u.co.uk/product-p/hpb90w0024.htm

£13.75 plus 1.99 postage. I've used them before and they were reliable and speedy delivery.

I would pay the extra 83p to have a new power cord at the same time as sometimes it can be the power cord that triggers a fault.

Cheers SC. I'll save that link,

Everything's going Pete Tong here tonight. Lying on a 20% inflated lilo, the telly signal's gone completely... and I've spent 50 minutes trying to load the Ar-Goose page to see if they've stock of this item or not... and it just won't load between the product page and the 'reserve to pick up' page where I could check stocks. I'd hate to deflate this entirely, find the box/receipt, lug it down there... only to find 0 stock until 1-2 days' time or something :)

I keep losing MSE with a 502 bad gateway .... and my dongle itself keeps falling off the Internet.

I'm sure most of the 3rd world are doing better than me tonight :)

I got the 502 last night too....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

My first post on the NPT was #1607 on the first thread. I was surprised to see all the same names! It was in response to a youtube song link by all the sss's from youtube. I actually remember posting but I don't know what the song is as my phone won't open the link to youtube.

Just had a quick look and it was (Muse) super massive black hole.

    Still a great song :j

I've also been getting the 502's over the last few days.

Those of us who have our own spetic tanks or similar are usually highly aware of what not to use. No kitchen roll here. And no tampax (which macputer wants to change to tapas!) just......loo roll. As parsimoniously as possible.

I never quite know how to tell town dwelling female friends about the tampax issue.....

You could leave a little sign asking them not to flush their Tapas? Decorate the sign with the Spanish flag and put some of those bags with the parasol lady on one of those tapas terracotta bowls?

Posted October 2004. My first post.

So, not a very accurate prediction, really, but it was 3 years ahead of the actual crash. I had not anticipated that interest rates would be cut to zero and held at that level for five years and counting.

How did you get it to go back to 2004? However hard I try, I can't get the search facility to pull up anything of mine earlier than autumn 2008, and I joined in May 2008.

    :rotfl:

The farmhouse where we used to go on holiday when I was little had a notice on the loo warning town dwellers not to put detergents down it. I'm sure you can think of something to put on a label, lir. Doozer is right, though - they key to stopping visitors flushing tapas is to provide them with somewhere else to put them - although you might want something a bit less open than a terracotta bowl.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Had another try and it is going back to the beginning now. I seem to have started with 3 posts on the same day, the first of which says I was considering investing in Icesave. Glad I didn't!

    Hi

I'm a bit new to all this - trying to learn to be a tart after several years of stable relationships that I haven't really thought about. I've read through several pages of this board and can't see anyone else asking my exact question, so I'm going to post it here. Apologies if something identical is buried somewhere on a page I didn't get to.

I have an ISA with ING into which I have put my full allowances for 06/07, 07/08 and 08/09. I also have a very old ISA with Britannia that has about £50 in it that has been there since some time before 2004. Neither is earning top interest and I'd like to transfer them somewhere better.

I looked at interest rates several weeks ago and picked Abbey. The transfer process seemed a bit daunting to me, so I decided to open the Abbey ISA by transferring the old £50 from Britannia, leaving the £10k from ING to be transferred later when everything was up and running. Abbey have been pathetically slow about it in a way that I now discover is typical of them. The transfer is in process and can't be stopped, but I've no idea when it will actually be complete. This has put me off Abbey, as you can understand.

So my question is this: having paid £3.6k into my ING ISA and opened the Abbey one with a transfer from Britannia, would I be allowed to open an ISA with yet another provider (IceSave??) by transferring my ING ISA without waiting for Abbey to finish transferring the Britannia money? Or would that contravene the one new provider per year thing?

    Thanks.

I also replied to somebody else's post on the same thread about ISAs, and posted something over here about house prices. Somebody was contrasting house buying by families (with two incomes) and single people (who could buy somewhere very small or share) and I pointed out that they were forgetting the existence of single parent families.

    Mememe post :o

I'm in bed with bronchitis. Not the best fun I've ever had. I'm so exhausted and frustrated. Perhaps this year I will not be ill on Christmas Day. I was supposed to be doing refreshments at both performances of DDs xmas play today. Not only can I not splutter germa over people's mulled wine, i can't even go to it. I may try to sneak in tonight's performance, I'd feel so guilty.

Twozer dog has hurt his leg. He's walking on it and doesn't seem too unhappy but he does need to go to the vet.

And I missed xmas shopping yesterday. I'm going to have to try some of the online variety and hope it gets here. I've seen something for H but it's a bit of a weird one. Not sure it will make it in time - can't find a waterstones that stocks it either. Fingers crossed...
