I'm guilty of the same. I topped up last week and had 36 in the cupboard as well as a few round 3 bathrooms, so over 40. Crazy!vivatifosi wrote: »That's my thought too. The good news is that it would look great on a CV. However it would look great to people who want you to do more of the same, which it sounds like you are reticent to accept.
Another question I would have would be whether I'm able to build my own team. For a responsibility that big, I'd want to be able to pick the people I'd want to work alongside me. I have worked on a project like this (though not as the ultimate person responsible) and as I'm sure you already realise the amount of time that you have to work together it is paramount to have people that you trust around you. You need to be as tight as a drum, have no leaks, and be able to have breakfast lunch and dinner together as well as discussing sensitive issues without wanting to kill each other.
Everyone has given good advice and my thoughts are highlighted in vivas post.
You have done "meaty" projects before so you know how much energy, enthusiasm and commitment you will have to put in.
One thing is it will raise your "stock" but only you know if you feel up to or want to take that all on.0 -

Do not swap it for an empty one, just one light on paper.
If they go and have no paper I dread to think what their hands might do, and turning on the taps etc etc...........seriously...leave some on a roll.
Oh yeah! Good point lir.
I washed the towels after the last visit
I probably wouldn't feel so eek if I'd at least seen who used the bathroom, its the not knowing!0 -

I feel like I'm living on the edge a bit holding on until I go back to the land of Plenty (would be better if that was loo rather than kitchen roll).
I was very tempted to buy a 24 pack that was on offer in Lidl last weekend, then I talked myself out of it as there are only so many loo rolls one person needs (and a lodger can stash without looking slightly strange edit - or like an excuse not to buy one's own).0 -
You could always take your own in when you go.
Then you don't need to even think about what loo roll is left or who has been using it.
The next step is disinfectant wipes for anything you may touch0 -

If you have rads Nikkster, I'd certainly keep my own towels in my own room but over the rads, so that when I do use the bathroom they are nice and warm.
I'd hate sharing anything other than a hand towel with someone else. I don't even share DH's towels, which kind of sits alongside my views on electronic toothbrushes I guess...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It would take a bit of conditioning - that could be an awkward stage of adjustment.
I'm not at the disinfectant wipe stage (yet), just have a thing about shoes where my bare feet will be (brought up in a 'shoes off at the door' house), and a bit put out at strangers helping themselves to my precious loo rolls! There are 2 bathrooms, both upstairs. Mine is 'standalone', the other is ensuite. If it is relative of flatmate, I would kind of expect them to use the ensuite tbh, and considering there will be a third visit from the tradesperson I am wondering how they have been in the flat long enough to need to use the facilities
I feel as a paying guest here, my consumables and space should be left alone
Actually - just thought I did use a disinfectant wipe on the floor :rotfl: However that is because there were packets (plural)of them left by the previous lodger and I couldn't be bothered to bring up the mop and bucket. (floor was due a clean)0 -

Its 'my bathroom' (there are only 2 of us here). I think I would feel less precious if it was shared with other strangers (I cope with shoes in the kitchen although it would not be my choice), but it is supposed to be my space.0 -
Spirit - how would the hours fit with you and DH having 'downgraded' your responsibilities and lifestyles?I think....0

I have something to consider and NP thoughts are welcome.
I have been asked to be the SRO for a large project . It concerns several organisations, TUPE of many hundreds of staff, redundancies, relocations, change management a budget of several £M. It is politically sensitive and is as attractive as a rat sandwich.
I was gracefully finding away to decline however on Friday at a Board meeting someone outed me as the 'candidate' (I have not applied) as our CEO and he had discussed it. The Board said "excellent".
Have discussed my reservations today with the Director I report to who has said go with your gut feeling. The project team have already contacted me to say they are thrilled. If I do this I will have either:
a) interesting different kind of influential role over the next 12 -24 months or
b) a dogs life (and I am not thinking Wheezy westie, a LIR dog or my own flattie)
I have had some chunky projects in the past, but I am not sure I have the energy for this at this time. I would still keep my existing team but add an new implementation team for this project. Locality wise I could travel around the organisations easily.
NP hear about my life all of the time so I value your opinions.
I would but I'm young and I'm a workaholic.
It depends on what else you would want to do with your life and if you think this will be a feather in your cap as such.
good luck in whatever you decide.0 -

That's what I do!
We don't share towels but have shared toothbrushes when pushed (I am terrible at packing!)
Everyone's been busy chatting tonight. I've been icing gingerbread men0
