Thanks for posting this one, I have the album but for some reason hadn't ripped it so had forgotten as all the CDs are still in the shed.

I thought I would add the bruno mars track. Lazy song

And a bit of C&W for the closed minded. Right in time Lucinda Williams

Last night it got close to being 'flu'. DW is also not very well and said she wasn't up to picking up the girls from church youth club at 8pm. Getting out of bed and going out in the cold with head spinning and every breath bringing on a painful coughing fit was not on of life's more pleasant experiences. Today it has been indoors with the blinds closed and the radio on as looking at anything bright is pretty painful. Does anyone else find when they sleep with a high temperature they have really weird vivid dreams, somehow I was convinced if I could only sort out a data matching problem my nose would unblock and my temperature would fall, sadly the logic of it eludes me now.

A question on kids shoes - DD1 aged 8 wants to have these as school shoes, the issue is the 1 inch heel, I don't think it is high enough to look chaavy but I do wonder whether it might have any postural/physical dangers?

I'm not into classical but I liked some of lir and lj's suggestions such as Philip Glass- Low symphony.
What would you make of sufjan's steven's "BQE Symphony"?

May I suggest we each put together a mixtape of suggestions for everybody else that would maybe get people interested in genres that we like but they're not already fans of. Outstanding tracks you think would be worth listening to by people who might not have heard of them before?

    Maybe a personal top 10? :)

I better expand I don't mean a ranked top 10; just a list of 10 good songs in no praticular order that you think other people might be better off for hearing, and that might encourage them to hear more from that genre.

I cannot see it would be good for her in any way, which might be an easier way to look at it.

Fwiw, an inch for a little person with little feet is not such a small angle on the foot iyswim.

I love heels, but personally......I wouldn't let a girl of the age of yours wear them.

As with all things with girls (dh thinks men are simpler......) it's not just the heel...it's what it represents......

Sweets, I still cannot do it. I can just throw a few in as they occur....my brain just doesn't function in such a way!

I know how you feel. I gave in to the pester power to let DD have flip-flops with a similar size heel, but at least she only wears them in the summer and not all day every day. Mercifully she hasn't asked for heels on school shoes yet.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I think the c word is overused.

To me a c is someone who hangs around in the wrong areas and getting into trouble. They dress in a certain way which is usually a whole look rather than one pair of shoes.

I don't see anything wrong with those shoes other than if she is very young then they may not be as practical.

My dd has flat pumps in the summer, converse trainers and flat boots in the winter.

I still don't see any problem with the above shoes.
