During the Second World War, my Mum lived in Woolwich before she was evacuated. This happened after she was buried in the rubble of her house with her brothers and sisters. I always knew this had happened, but this amazing tool has just been released, you see the scale of the Blitz and can look up individual events. It is scary but fascinating.

This is fascinating viva. I can't drill down into events and I'm desperate to, I wonder if it's too popular?

I'm having the same problem, so I wonder if it is like the police crime site when that was first launched. It is amazing though. I have visions of being able to find out the exact date of my the day Mum's house was destroyed and being able to then match that up with newspaper reports.

I've already found the street, but more than one bomb fell there - not surprising given that she lived in Woolwich and my Nan made munitions there, Grandad was a fireman on the docks. The three kids managed to get in the cellar and the house blew up on top of them. My uncle, who was then about 16, got there first and started digging through the rubble with his bare hands, Grandad and the fire team started shortly after. Mum was deaf for some years after that, as a result of a combination of the explosion and the brick dust that got compacted in her ears. If it is the same event, a young mum and her baby couldn't get out of the street in time and were killed immediately.

Are you sure that that dog video is not just an elaborate joke?

If it is, it is still brilliant.

Is there room for Roger in the Tifosi household? He looks like a happy boy despite his current predicament.
