Thanks very much everyone.
It's not with the council I am happy to confirm, it's on the buy side (ie with an asset management company rather than a bank, banks are the sell side).
My wages will rise by 50% from my current job and as I'm going from temping to being on a fixed contract I get holiday pay, sick pay and also extra paid into my pension. They also do all that nice cuddly flexi-family huggz stuff too which is nice.
I'll miss my current lot but I'm used to moving on. I leave on good terms and will leave my replacement with an easier job than I arrived to find which is what I like to do.
Beers are definitely on me. I'll be in the Scary Canary on Kent St by Town Hall in a few minutes. Hope to see you all there.
Fab news. Well done Gen.0 -

What? You've finished already? I'm just about to leave for the airport. Does that mean I should cancel my flight? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Gday mate!
Just come out, the rest of us are still here. Gen slipped off when it was his round, well he did say the drinks were on him!
We should all still be fine by the time you arrive except viva has slipped under the table, twice already. Not sure she's gonna last.0 -
How do you decide if you have the flu and need to go home? I have had a temperature for nearly 36 hours and despite paracetamol and ibuprofen and a woolen sweater I am constantly shiveringI think....0

What temperature?
Hopefully, you don't have flu but something else less dire.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Ye gads,
I just found out that so eone (I am sure not me) agreed to host some water station for a ruddy marathon. we don't have to do anything, but its going to cause issues with cars going in and out (us and clients) of our 'driveway' and the dogs are going to bark all day long.
Then, the Wretches asked if I could make sure no one wanted to ride on the day. no, no I cannot, it's a weekend day which is the best day most working people can manage in the winter . I will warn them though, as they might not WaNT to risk an accident with their horses.
I pity my neighbour who is having a daytime barn party though.....
I wish someone had told everyone a few months ago.0 -
Oh, and mildly amusing,
I popped into asda, which is next door to the farm supplies, this morning and they were collecting money
'what's it for'. I asked
'and and dec' they answered with a straight face
'ant and dec? But what for?'
They looked shocked that I did not know and answered 'ITV'
I pushed and pushed and it seems to be it might be for some local charities...but tbh, of they don't know they have a cheek asking for money!0
