Try not to take this stress on. You can't help it and I'm sure your customers will understand that it's nothing to do with you and if they are unhappy they will probably be cursing the "ruddy marathon" runners too.0

Tbh, I think it's quite. Cool thing to have going on, but....it's just the attitude (having spoken to the others nobody had said yes, but I don't mind, our 'drive' makes the only safe spot for this on the road.
I do think they should be upfront and give notice though.
I think the answer is to say to clients that they don't need to attend themselves that day. Everyone loves a free lunch.0 -

'and and dec' they answered with a straight face
'ant and dec? But what for?'
They looked shocked that I did not know and answered 'ITV'
I pushed and pushed and it seems to be it might be for some local charities...but tbh, of they don't know they have a cheek asking for money!
Basically, LIR, they were collecting for themselves.
Some of these small charities have been set up principally to benefit the charity collectors.
I am happy to contribute to large charities that I know the name of, as they are subject to scrutiny about the way they spend their money, but some of the small ones spend 90% of what they raise on fund-raising.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I could well imagine Max Clifford being involved in a cover-up, trying to avoid something getting in the papers. That's his job. But according to the news reports, he may have been more involved. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
What temperature?
Hopefully, you don't have flu but something else less dire.
38.5 under arm this evening having taken nurofen. During the Second World War, my Mum lived in Woolwich before she was evacuated. This happened after she was buried in the rubble of her house with her brothers and sisters. I always knew this had happened, but this amazing tool has just been released, you see the scale of the Blitz and can look up individual events. It is scary but fascinating.

I thought the same as you. May be the culture in the 60s/70s/80s was for girls below the age of consent to give it up for popstars. I'm not condoning anything just it seems amazing so many were involved.
Michaels, for me it would be unacceptable that you continue to go to work and infect your colleagues/clients etc if you have flu. I would also make sympathetic noises about 'your health' as well but would definitly ask you to go home if you turned up. SO GO TO BED NOW AND STAY OFF UNTIL YOU ARE PAST THE INFECTIOUS BIT AND WELL ENOUGH TO GO BACK (I am making the sweeping assumption you can afford to be ill - I know lots of people cannot)
Those adverts that show people taking their bugs to work after taking flu strength max drug really annoy me for the stupidly heroic spin they give to ignoring infection prevention.
Does your employer provide or promote flu jabs?At work we do.
I have them through my GP - sends me into a decline as I take myself off to the Surgery, but my OH and DD have not. You have set me off now so I will remind him when he gets home from tennis.0 -
/bI won't chance more than to say "Hi" .... and "Still no Internet, although I've got this brief signal (after just 3 hours of trying and over 12 minutes to load this page) ..... with the laptop on a laptray.... on a wicker basket .... on an upturned plastic storage box.
This is dire.....
Internet connection got harder... and now it won't be until a week into the new yeat (BT). No choice, back against the wall, had to 'choose' *snorts* an inferior, expensive connection with a huge contract ..... and at the end of that process I discovered it'd take 29 days from when I ordered it .... then, a week later, they emailed me with a new date a further 10 days later.
Remember... this might be the last post I make for several days ... or maybe my box/basket/tray combo ... might hold out for a while longer0 -
Thanks for this viva, I was trying to find this info a few weeks ago - I always wonder whether some of the houses in the street that don't match and are post war were fill in for flattened sites although the one I was pretty convinced about is not shown on this site.I think....0
