    You need to do...

[ youtube ] then add just the numbers and letters bit after the = (Ip2ZGND119Q) then [ /youtube ] with no spaces inbetween.

    Thanks everyone.

TBH the date is not a particularly big deal for me for myself. I lost her gradually over a period of about 3 years, and the date when she finally stopped breathing is no more important than the rest of that time. In any case, I'm not someone who makes a particularly big thing about special dates and special places in general. Special people, on the other hand...

However, the anniversary is a time when I know my dad is likely to be vulnerable, and that's what matters to me about it. DS and DD dealt pretty well with my mum's anniversary, probably for similar reasons to mine, so that's good. And I think the All Saints Day thing that people have mentioned has been useful to my dad. He belongs to a church called All Saints Church, which unsurprisingly makes quite a big deal of the day. It has a fairly elderly congregation, so has deaths occurring amongst them fairly often. I did mark her birthday with a phone call to my dad and a chat about her too.

As far as LNE's special dates are concerned, it's out of my hands. His parents travel to this part of the country for his birthday and for the anniversary, because his ashes are buried near where he lived, which is a lot closer to where I live than to his parents. When they come, they like to visit the grave by themselves and then take me and the kids out for a meal. They are private people and I would never intrude on their visit to his grave, but when they take us out for lunch they treat it positively as a time to spend with his kids, not as a melancholy focus on his death at all. So it seems to work well for all of us. :)

The thing that mainly set DD off this time was the "Gathering" of the child bereavement charity. I don't think that's any bad thing, though. Sometimes it's helpful for children to have a specific time for thinking about the deceased parent, and then there are lots of other times for doing other things and getting on with life, and somehow it's easier to let go of him during those times, because you know a time for him has already been allocated. She said she found it helpful to be with other children who've lost a parent, anyway, and to feel she wasn't the odd one out.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Just in case PN is able to read.....

I seem to remember you were umming and ahhing over an electric toothbrush, but I cannot remember if you got one.

Dh bought one for us last week, same type but new model as we used to have, put in storage and cannot find now...anyway, it's a Phillips sonicare and half price at boots ATM.

I am so pleased. I have had a bit of tartar building up depsite fairly frantic brushing to rid me of it, and tonight it's almost all gone. My gums started to struggle recently, so I knew a manual brush was no longer sufficient.

Ah, it's wonderful! Another couple who share a toothbrush. I thought we might be the only ones.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I think I got the job although it is hard to say. I got an email today from the woman that interviewed me asking for a 'catch up' in a coffee shop on the ground floor. Either she fancies me (she is onl human after all so it's highly likely) or there's going to be a job offer waiting.

I am pleased that you avoided the all-too-common ending to these videos:-
    1. Westie falls through the ice
    2. You go to Westie's aid
    3. You drown
    4. Westie ignores your attempts to help, struggles to the shore, shakes himself off, looks around, and wonders why Wheezy is no longer in sight and has apparently wandered off
