I thought of doing that, then Sainsbury had an offer 6 bulbs for £3.20 so I'll wait til they blow. I need the ones with skinny pins, not the ones with inverted nail heads, don't seem to see them on offer.

Is it OK to mix and match?

These are the most common fittings...

    And a FAQ page...

    frequently-asked-questions

I notice they don't show small beyonet cap which is (sbc) B15d.

It is best to buy good quality LED bulbs as the cheap "chinese" ones don't often last long or perform as they should.

We got 4 of these ones and one was DOA :D

They have a 5 year warranty.

The other thing to consider is the colour tempreature...

    Colour temp info

Yes you can normally mix and match as long as your using the same voltage.

    Edit: Just to add...

Philips and a few others are a good brand. It's worth checking reviews.

The reason we got the 6000°k colour temp ones was because it was a photography studio and is probably more white than you'd like in your rooms. I expect the 4200°k would be best for home.

I would say the 6W are the equivelent of around 50W as they claim, they are certainly a bit brighter than the 35W they replaced.

    Hello Nice Peeps.

    Come on Pastures...where are you?

    Possibly posh by Pastures definition.

We went to Amien for the weekend to the Christmas Market. Bought junk various from twee wooden sheds. Drank vin chaud in the street, bought some fabulous chocolates from a really traditional shop and some Christmas pressies from Galleries Lafayette. Watched a light show at the Cathedrale last night. It was awe inspiring, using colours to bring the statuary to life. It really brought home how these monuments must have enthralled the populations in their time. The sheer extravagence and scale and skill of the craft work made standing in the cold rain a small price to pay.

Another large monument held us captive this afternoon - Cite Europe near the tunnel. We did buy wine and other stuff in Carrefour but it was exactly the kind of place I would never go in the UK. It was however only 3 hours from there to home.

Most tasteless present I got though was from another Chocolate Shop. A chocolate St Nicholas - in a Mitre and looking like a Bishop (if I take the label off). A good friend has just been appointed as a curate at a Cathedral - and this will be just what she wants.

No nor me. Unless of course Jesus was born this week and the virgin birth was actually IVF treatment.

Sounds like you had fun Spirit.

My friends persuaded me for reasons I have discussed on one of this thread's predecessors, and now I wouldn't want to go back to having to do it myself.

My lovverrr has an 8 year old, I find that an annoying age with constant questions and wanting attention but at least I am not out of practice as youngest is emotionally more like a 9 or 10 year old.....something the school are now discovering (and believing) now he is at the start of his GCSE years, he is no where near mature enough to be taking them.

You think year 7 is strange, my eldest is in year 14! Talking about James, he is now not only a leader at Beavers (the group before cubs) but he is starting as a trainee youth worker next week at the local youth club. Apparently, he is mature enough for the responsibility but also young enough to have a rapport with the children plus with the additional very handy knowledge of different kinds of special needs.

Go James! We NP are so proud of what a great young man you have brought him up to be.

Are the school getting any nearer to providing what youngest's statement says he's entitled to?

I may be wrong (I often am) but I think a NP has a birthday today.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY PASTURES

If I am going to be wrong, I am going to be wrong in style:)

Oh no! I missed it. :o:( So sorry PN.

The mood here is rather subdued. Friday marked a whole year since my mum died, and then on Saturday I took DD to the "Christmas gathering" organised by the local charity for bereaved children. She has been subdued most of the time since, and wanting to talk about Daddy and how much she misses him. (DS didn't want to go so I made other arrangements for him.)

ETA Just noticed that while I've been off the site for a few days, my thanks count has got up past that 20,000 number that zag and I were discussing a little while back. Cheers everyone!
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Congrats Lydia! In case you're wondering why I have a slightly higher score than you, that's because you actually have a life, and I've ducked into Virtual reality.

Thanks Lydia, I am very proud of him too. Unfortunately, my sister believes he should not be a leader at Beavers because he is an atheist, she was quite forthright in her views yesterday which has left me quite upset, I thought she would be equally proud, not angry.

Nope, no further forward with youngest and his provision. When I challenged the head teacher a week or so ago, he stated things were changing anyway so that there was less support in the classroom under new government instructions. If that is the case, I can see trouble ahead for lots of parents.....and teachers.

However, his maths teacher HAS been more sensitive and is taking the time to make sure youngest is understanding what is going on and that he is ok but really, that is not fair on the other students in the class, he should not be having to take time out of teaching others to take on the role a teaching assistant should be doing if his statement was being met.

I've had a few problems with middle son as well this week. It seems the school is hell bent on upsetting all the students, especially those who have differing needs either by removing support or just by simply confusing the lives out of them. Middle son has been brought up to be helpful to others, the teachers know he is helpful and call on his help...and then he gets into trouble with other teachers for being helpful! Very very confusing for him and of course upsetting as he is only doing what he has been asked to and in his book, if a teacher asks you to do something, then you do it, promptly and without discussion.

Of course, this then makes him antsy, the teacher gets annoyed, I get a phone call and everyone gets just a little more stressed.

As for me, I have spent today trying to calm two stressed children, cook a Sunday roast, check on my parents and do some fire fighting with a major problem related to my site.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Isn't beavers more about learning to tie knots and playing games than praying? I seem to remember having to say a silly oath to the queen and god at the start of each meeting but otherwise it was nothing to do with religion from what I can remember of it (which to be fair is almost nothing!). Can't see how it matters what his individual beliefs are really. It's not like he's going to start trying to convert them all is it?!
