Mr S and I shared a base for a while, then got one each, then had a plug shortage for chargers and went back to manual tooth brushes.
Replace toothbrushes roughly every month.0 -
Does anyone have news of Pastures? I am starting to feel a bit concerned about her being a missing nice person.0

We have two electric bases for the four of us. I'm pink, DD is yellow, DS is blue and H is green. At the price I paid for those toothbrushes, there will never be four bases!
You only hold the base in your hand. I've touched far more interesting places on all of my family than the handles of their toothbrushes.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

And there was me thinking the coloured bits were just so that I could mix things up a bit and choose a different colour when I change the head on my toothbrush
I'm definitely in the toothbrush-not-in-the-line-of-fire-of-the-loo camp. But I'm also a stickler for the lid going down before it is flushed.
I am generally not a toothbrush sharer, but it has been known on rare occasions (forgotten toothbrushes, unplanned staying overs).0 -

We often forget toothbrushes when travelling, it's amazing how hard they can be to find in city centres. Dh has been known to tyake the medieval approach and eat cheese (apparently good for oral health) till he can find a brush.
What's really annoying is when he is travelling for work, because they get put in decent hotels that used to have that sort of thing as standard, not a 'if you ohone reception they might have one they can sell you for a tenner'.0 -
i may have ruined christmas.
forgot to apply for my visa for australia for christmas. normally when i apply it gets approved in about 30 seconds. this time it has been sent for "processing" - assume they check a random sample. 2-10 working days apparently. applied on sunday night (which would have been monday morning in australia) - fly this friday....oh dear.
i am persona non-grata at the moment.0 -

I've never applied for a visa to anywhere before, and am aware that you are a) important and b) busy but could a visit to the embassy help?0 -
Hopefully in Aus they can see you are due to fly and are at the 2 days end of the range not the 10 days. Fingers crossed. Can you speak to the Embassy tomorrow?
ETA: just noticed have cross-posted re embassy with Nikkster. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

no. it's an entirely on-line system. i can email them asking what is happening, but i assume that emailing them to chase it risks a jobsworth reading my email and deliberately processing it at a slower pace, especially if i mention that i need it by friday.
the % of jobsworths in australian immigration / customs is roughly 100% (slightly higher than the british rate of 95% jobsworth, 5% unable to even dress themselves in the morning).0 -
