Hoofing things about is as natural as breath to h; something he doesn't even think about. The other stuff is frustrating as he is less able to control and I am not allowed to poke people in the eyes anymore.

Nikkster...what time can you get here?
Doozergirl, he's not a looker and of course, doesn't enjoy female company of our sort, but his relationship with food and life is very sensual.0 -
A cousin (one of many) has just rented a house and I took the day of work to help her clean it. If tinkers are use for nothing else we know how to wield a bleach bottle. He has taken up with a country girl and she is very nice but I was amazed by the amount of dirt her family (her mother and sisters were cleaning with us)didn't see. They cleaned and we smiled and then went behind them with a scrubbing brush. And the finish on What is supposed to be a top end house is disgraceful.
Is this normal? I don't mean to be insulting but do you all live in squalor in houses that Aren't really finished? I have lived here for years but everything that is done is perfection. God help the tradesman that tries to deliver less.
The stuff that isn't done is no big deal. It is on the list. But this house, it is as though they started something, half did and moved on to the next room. And nothing was clean. It wasn't dirty but it didn't gleam....
Totally normal, IMO.
Clean is what convents are inside, and gypsy caravans. Higher up you get the less clean....in that it might looka nd smell clean, but chances are a gun dog cocks it's leg somewhere, or a corgi poops in a corridor and the owner shrugs.
I have given up for the last two years and ask people to keep their work boots on to protect them from our carpet.0 -

I enjoy his programme, and find it the equivalent of Nigella...BUT it t is stretching the powers of my imagination that the block of paper-wrapped goats cheese (etc) is leftovers. They are definitely not in the same state as things I use up as otherwise they would need to be chucked!
6'2"? I've gone to 6'3" before (just over a foot difference) - so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I'm also good at lugging things around. Years of not having a car (and I've brought back Ikea chest of drawers on the bus etc)0 -

We never have LO goat cheese because it's one thing I find very hard to resist.
We do have some hardening lumps of Manchego in the fridge though.0 -
Ok, off out to freeze at a quicker pace.0

I'm lodging until I have sussed out the area/ worked out whether I have enough saved up to buy somewhere in an ok area etc.
I'm living with one other person (good so far, the other option was really to go into a HMO-type thing), but the other person (and family when they visit) wear shoes in the house. As far as I'm concerned this is pretty much a no-no and I can't understand why people do it (unless you have animals which go outdoors, or you are rural). The first time I mopped the kitchen floor (with one the the terrible new 'flash power mops')
I bought an old fashioned mop from poundland - some washing up liquid/ bleach and a boiled kettle later things were much better. I'm aiming to keep that up every week/ 2 weeks.
I don't enjoy dusting, but I do have some standards.0 -

I have no standardsI pay someone else to do it.

Gets me down to wS...but it's just me here...and I am broken. Tbh, my mother has had various help in the house and they rarely do the job I would do. My dad has had some amazing housekeepers...russian and eastern European, one came to help me a few times in London when I was too ill to cope and she was like a whirling dervish and so funny.
If I were paying someone I want it good.....and honestly.....well...it's part of our rep abroad.. Dodgy teeth, dogs as blankets and not that great at housekeeping unless we have staff.0
