I would have gone for the 204 and scored a bit of cashback....

I looked directline will only pay cashback on genuine new policies for genuine new customers.

Anyway £204 including legal protection and protected no claims for me and OH to drive the juke is good!

Got a quote today for a water softener....that wasn't so cheap + discovered that the stop c@ck turns but doesn't turn the water off!

Average fleet price is a little over £2k, so you're not getting too bad a deal there!

My mother's just had hers done for a little over £300; '60' plate Golf GT that's used on blue light runs. That wasn't bad either!

Men need hugs too, you know. This is the time of year I hate, even with the SAD light on. The days are still getting shorter, and there's a long, dark winter stretching ahead of us.

I like this time of year, it is my favourite. For some strange reason I genuinely like the cold and wish we had proper winter here with long periods of freeze. I also like lots of rain (but not drizzle). Don't ask me why...

I have to pay £550 to insure the beast for only 4,000 miles a year and to get it that low I had to stick every woman I've ever met on the insurance.

That makes me feel better about mine (I think we have similar cars - I went for something like £500 for 10 months (some kind of accelerated build up of no-claims (crosses fingers and toes and touches wood)). I only added my mum on too. I think I estimated 6000 miles.

oh dear, i think i am not meant to be a driver :( just ran into the back of someone on the way in to work, nightmare.

I once ran into the back of someone. He jumped out of the car and I expected him to shout at me. He said "it's all right, they're only lumps of metal".

It was generous and empathetic of him. It has been my response ever since when I have been bumped.

    Stuff happens.

It is probably more socially acceptable for you to drive such a girly car.

I think that elephant/admiral no claims accelerator is a massive con - I haven't bothered to do the maths though I just assume anything like that is an attempt to rip you off!

If anyone wanted to come and bump in to me please could they damage both passenger side doors and the front bumper...thanks :)

I wish I was young enough to have insurance costing more than £200.

WE have a kinetico(?) water softener but it was from ebay. WE were redoing a lot of the plumbing anyway at the time which helps a lot in terms of plumbing in a non-softened tap in the kitchen and outside.
    I think....

It was a lot more girly with its previous owner believe me! (I bought it from my mum).

I had limited time to sort the insurance out - after ages of faffing around, my mum finally bought her new car quite suddenly. Admiral were the cheapest, and the 10 months didn't work out so differently per month to 12 so I just went for it. We shall see if it makes any difference in 9 months...
