You may love the little ones but there's no guarantee they will know of your input. Your daughter on the other hand is blood and will be yours always, for better or for worse. I got annoyed with my Mum too much as she is with you. But it's only because we love our parents and don't want to see them used.
I used to. 'for the kids'. Now I see the kids are what they were brought up to be too, just the same, and tbh, I think in small part I aided that by being provident.
Sometimes you cannot do right for doing wrong. It's not what you would choose to feel about people you want to love.0 -
Sorry this is a guy answer - if you dislike your job and sweat every penny you earn the thought of giving it to others who chose to sit on their ar*e is not very attractive.I think....0

The mantra of all tax payers...the song doesn't want when you are a higher tax payer, you just hate your job more I think.
Though...
Dh had a stomach bug this week, so I kept saying he should use a sick day, but he hasn't.. He said today He was too nervous to leave close proximity to a loo. He is not required to work the crazy hours ATM, but is voluntarily working till ten most nights, only one or two nights a week is it really in any way necessary. I am trying to encourage him to spend more evenings with friends.
Next week he has two days off.0 -
I feel oddly relieved that I am in good company with others who have !!!!less relatives.0

Actually I don't mind paying tax cos I am sure most of it goes on things I approve of - it is when it is much more personal and I can see that the money is actually just encouraging behaviour that is of no benefit to the recipient that I object. Tough love.I think....0 -

Ah, I see. That makes sense.
I guess 'eeeeeeee' is an appropriate vowel sound.0 -
I work.
I pay tax.
Of what's left over, I give almost 10% to the Govt in tax (CT)
I use my car to go out to earn that work and pay the Govt about 8% of takehome pay in fuel tax. I tax my car, there goes another 2%. I need work on the car, there goes another 2% in tax as they add VAT on top of it.
By the time I've got "my bit", I pay rent, which the LL pays tax on - so, really, I am paying that tax.... there's another 20%.
If I turn a light on, to cook my beans on toast .... I pay tax on that too.
If you work it out, you probably only get to spend £10 on yourself in every £1000 you go out and work for0
