Ok, talk me through this, I can phone up bt and say here is 129 quid go away and don't bother me for a year?
And as long as I don't phone anyone's mobile from my landline, I am home free ( pardon the pun)
That is what I do. Monthly BT phone bill is then £8 for the unlimited calls + a few pound for the calls we can't make free from mobiles. Bill fully itemised so anyone daring to phone mobiles from house phone is yelled at!
The other positive is that BT doesn't charge for calls to 0870/0845 numbers if you have the unlimited bundle or free evening and weekend calls, whereas other providers do.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We moved into an area that had cable and got internet eventually through the cable company. The email address was changed three times as they rebranded themselves during various takeovers and eventually I just gave up. It felt like the London telephone renumbering debacle.

A little older, a lot less tolerant
Heeheehee. I like that.
The boiler men came today to start the install of my heating :j. But they are late, a lot later than the nice builder or I wanted them to start. The particularly obnoxious one said 'how are you this morning my fine lady'. (cringe cringe) and I just looked at him, trying to look haughty in my red fleece pjs and purple anorak and said. 'cold'. I think it went straight over his head though.
On the plus side, nice builder kept an eye on the plumber and said his work seemed good, so that is reassuring. I am feeling VERY trepadatious about this heating system now, and I have a nagging sense of foreboding. I hope it's just winter paranoia!:o0 -

I have changed, I have lost hope, I have become less kind. Or more realistic. Who the fu ck knows
There was a tinker family passing through where I worked the other day, I was playing some puzzle game on my iPad and one of the older children kept coming across. Can we use your phone, can I play with that...
The quick answer is you can fu ck right off you thie v ing little madam, I am 5 minutes away from breaking your arm.
I have lost hope and it hurtsRetail is the only therapy that works0 -
Still got a land line but £9.50 O2 unlimited BB and £6.28 from Primus for landline (only use it for 0800), not too onerous.
Phone them up and they will reduce this to 4.75 if you sign up for 12 months. The whole landline and mobile thing annoys me. If you live anywhere rural it is BT or nothing and mobile service is poor too.
I pay £36 per month for vodaphone Iphone which I cannot recieve calls (and rarely texts) on at home.
At home we can only have BT, lousy Broadband service and in total £82 per month. Although our package includes all landline calls most of the calls these days are to mobiles.
As my DD also has a contract (with o2) I feel we pay through the nose for very poor service.
Phone Vodafone and ask for a free sure signal box. Also I am sure even in non-llu areas there are alternatives to BT.I think....0 -
