I'm not sure this link will work without signing in but I saw it and thought of lemonjelly.

They are tiny terrariums :), albeit very tiny. Lovely though.

Pn, you humble me. You really do
I thought about this ... for a long time ... and I have to declare that I don't actually know what this means. . . I'm intelligent, but uneducated, which causes gaps :)

    I think I can guess, but can't reply/respond in case my guess is a c0ck up :)

Sooooo.... let's move on and see what others are chatting about :)

Um, it's been three. Well, three since he died. Seven since he left, and nine since he first told me he didn't love me. But thanks for the compliment anyway. :) Yeah, I've come a long way. I'd rather be who it's made me than who I used to be before. :)

Praying you get some hope back somehow and some time.

I didn't know the before you, but the after one is pretty darn fabulous :)

A few years ago your reply would have been completely different. This really is scary stuff

Makes me realise how hard some people have it.

Yep, that's the problem with this thread, how can one wallow in self-pity when everyone else suffers so much more but handles things with so much stoicism and dignity.
    I think....

Would it? Would I have been cleverer back then, or meaner?
    :)
Or do I sound like I'm a loon now? Or was I a loon then?
Or both, but different sorts of loon?

What a great perspective on it all.

Have you (or any of the other nice people) been watching Science Club (or something along those lines) which has just finished on BBC2?

It's worth a look I think. They've somehow got the balance between science and fun spot on. I think it also helps that they haven't gone for the option of getting a Top Gear presenter to front it, but Dara O'Briain - who is not only funny, but knows something about science :T

Last week they extracted DNA using pineapple and vodka, and this week they worked out the speed of light (or pretty darned close) with cheese on toast (well, looked more like bread to me but I'll let them off) and a microwave.

    :o
But I can vouch that if you do feel the need to wallow in self-pity, everyone is very supportive :)

Wallowing is good .... and don't ever let anybody tell you otherwise; they're selfish :)

    Agree.

Troubles are not one size fits all. What one can cope with depnds on what else one manages.

Sometimes a glass breaking is enough to send one into tears or tantrums, because you have so many balls in the air that you are fried, even if none of them are big heavy ones. Other times it's just because one is run down, emotionally ailing, whatever.

Of course we must support those whose greviences make us squirm with their enormity, but that should not mean we cannot ask for sympathy for our own lifechanging mini dramas. In themselves, 'normal' gripes often help those having major ones remember that life goes on.

How are things going nikkster.....up to speed yet?

Dh heard to day he did not get the job. They have kept him dangling for well over a month, maybe two?, and still cannot say no, but rather 'not yet'. They recruited the one they interviewed later because he has more relevant experience to what they are doing right now, but have asked dh if he would join them in spring if they can take someone else on.....

All in all, it's the best way to not get something I think.
