Mistaken identity??? What is he saying, 30 years on one tory grandee looks much like another??? He's a victim, so we have to be sympathetic, but had any one else made such a false allegation they would be hung out to dry.

Well his story seems to be that he was shown a picture and correctly identified the man who abused him, but the police then told him "this is lord mcalpine, a Tory peer" so he assumed it was, but in fact it turned out the police were wrong and it was someone else. Seems a bit odd...

Yes, seems more than a little far fetched. Who knows what the real story is.

Whilst we're on the subject of tories, I note that Doris woman has been suspended by the Tory party for going on I'm a celebrity cos she won't be doing her MP job whilst there.

Does anyone know if Gordon brown will be suspended by labour - he doesn't seem to have been showing up for work much recently. I seem to remember tony Blair going on a lecture tour instead of doing his MP job between 2007-2010 as well. Hmmmm.

I think it's the sound of a man who has been served with legal papers back pedalling furiously.

Quite possibly! I don't think we'll ever know the truth, however!

In the real world, resident had man invade her house yesterday. Concern for welfare identified, therefore Cllr called, who notifies, Police and Social Services. Stolen property found in man's possession is returned within 2 hours! CK spends until midnight at the property with resident, bought her dinner and has call someone in from their night off (thanks Mambina) to cover the said events work!

Surely the above is what politicians should really be doing, rather than arguing over who's done what and generally acting like children?!

CK is also paid nowhere near what an MP is, and seems to be doing all the legwork at the moment!

    Quote isn't working for me!

quoting: CK's pic (which looks like a meet up of a car owners club!)

You are giving that lovely sea view up? To move offices to NW9????

I really wish that was my daily office; it's just off Bristol and it's absolutely beautiful.

2 of the cars live in Scotland, 3 live in Cardiff and the other 5 in that pic live in London, so it's extremely rare to have all of management in one place!

I don't think there are enough of these about to have an owners club yet (we've got 10 of the first 250 in the UK, and 46 of the first 3000 in Europe/Russia/Israel), although there's always hope!

    For the physicists...

DH has been looking for new t-shirts. This one made me laugh (caution - it's a bit rude):

We both think that's brilliant, as do Youssef and Mehmet at the cafe!

If you're deaf you can't hear, but you can still do everything for yourself.

It's raining here and I need a big stick. I need a stick to be able to open up my storage unit (I am small and feeble).... I am mulling over the idea of taking 2-3 boxes over to storage, to try to make moving easier. I HATE moving... I am a useless carrier of things. I can only do one small box at a time and then need a big rest after 2-3. And I hate stairs and there are two sets. So I figured if I could get 2-3 boxes out that I don't/won't need then it'll be less on the day..... but I also hate the rain - it's not a good idea to put things into storage wet either.

If it dries up I'll set out to find a big stick a bit later....

It doesn't help that there are four big boxes here that I went and got OUT of storage just 4 weeks ago .... and I've used just 1/100th of what was in them really.... so they're going back into storage and that was two wastes of time/effort.

I've never heard of a business library. You must live in some Narnia Land of Libraries.... Libraries of every type, kind and function :)

If only! It would be lovely to get up in the morning, walk through a wardrobe and be at work instead of sitting in traffic.

But surely BBC investigative journalism has come across the concept of unreliable witnesses before. it would appear they never actually showed him a photo of the guy he is alleged to have named and said is this the one....

And SURELY the BBC would have bothered to do some fact checking instead of spreading rumours and being libellous?

It's rainy and I'm grumpy because there are people at work being difficult for no reason whatsoever. It's absolutely annoying.

    ah well.
