    DS1 received a distinction in his masters:j:j:j
I hope you told him "About bl00dy time! Now get your idle 4rse out, get a job - and start looking after ME for a change!"

    :)

    Congrats to your DS1.

I am so uneducated and distanced from education that I didn't even know you could get firsts in Masters'.

Radio three are playing the original version rhapsody in blue. It's so good to be sitting here listening to it in full (because I am shattered) it was a seminal piece of music and I ract to it in much the same way as I do the summer suite of the four seasons and my most beloved hard house. I love a piece of music that forces a tempo change in your heart and physical reactions.

    Sigh, that was good.

That is one of my all time favourites too. It always makes me happy when played well. Though when I lived in my little house my next door neighbour played on their piano very mechanistically. I used to shout "play it with feeling" through the wall:o.

    Like what?
There's one in merry hell, but I've never been in there.

I mentioned my car window kit the other day, which was my last purchase. The time before that it was a long handled dustpan and brush. Before that it was a step thing.

    NP Poll:

Have you ever dreamt about a NP? :)

No. I don't tend to remember my dreams anyway though. Only the ones where you drift off back to sleep (then they are very vivid and quite strange).

I have always said my taste is eclectic. Could not be more different to my training. I like trance too, tremendously. Two of the things I most wish I had been able to work on ...i listen with envy....are both trance.

You know dh and I met when both working in the music industry? It was not my 'home' classical, and it was not his jazz world. We were both laying stuff down for someone else to fiddle with.

I like lots of different sorts of music (not very well versed in classical though), but really like drum and bass. Its good to get some variety I think :)

Congratulations to him! Great achievement. I got a merit for mine, but it was a step up from my undergrad (should have worked harder for both really).

There are a lot of alumni from my masters at my new workplace (from previous years, but I know at least 2 others from my year have worked there in the past). I'm sure it will help him in his future...

I hope so. As PN says:

    I knew degrees went pass -- 3rd -- 2.2 -- 2.1 -- 1st.

Didn't know about masters, but now do. They go pass -- merit -- distinction.

Sadly not although I do have a mental picture of one or two which I see when I read their posts.
