I was watching it while working. I found the couple offputting. Not sure why. The building should have been amazing like a little hidden nook but it wasn't.
My viewing last night was Masterchef followed by Grand Designs :rotfl:
I watched the 2nd half.
Like you missk, I found no empathy with the couple. In fact, I felt I really didn't/wouldn't like them.
£600,000 for that monstrosity? A few boxes in a glorified warehouse. They didn't seem to care about the impact on neighbours enough. House was ugly & badly thought out. What a waste of £600,000.
The one criticism about kevin, he praises everyone regardless. Sometimes the designs are awful, ugly, don't fit in with the locale, are way over budget, or are simply not what they said they were going to do. But he just does his nicey nicey haven't you done well routine.
Last nights was a waste of money, & an ugly home that will quickly become very bland. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I love a piece of music that forces a tempo change in your heart and physical reactions.
Sigh, that was good.
Really?!?!:eek:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
NP Poll:
Have you ever dreamt about a NP?
Nope. No idea what any of you look like. Never met anyone from here in RL.
TBH geography was never a strong point, so I lose track of where you all are.
Memory is never great, so I forget what you do.
Plus, been absent for quite a lot of this year.
Trust me, NP don't want to be in my dreams...:eek:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

You just inspired me to play it on Spotify. An American in Paris which is the other track on the album is great too.
The amazing thing about Rhapsody in Blue is that it feels like Gershwin has left himself nowhere to go about 1:15 into the piece with that huge crescendo: <kettle drrrrrrrum rolll> BAH BAH BAH BAH [CRASH] Pah x10 [CRASH] etc. but then just drops away into that lovely piano warble dropping from a major to a minor key.
Apparently it was sketched out on a train which you can hear (I think) in lots of parts in the middle.
Having never visited America let alone 1920s America (1920s America remains an ambition to visit and possibly top of my list if physicists ever get their act together vis-a-vis the time machine), Rhapsody in Blue is America to me.0 -

That was the worst grand designs in a while and I didn't really like it at all. I'd not hire them, as architects either.NP Poll:

However hard I try, I haven't managed it yet0 -

James has been offered the part of Egeus in the school production of A Midsummer Night's dream...he is not sure whether he is going to take it though.
Pretty amazing though, up until September, he had absolutely no interest in doing drama, decided to take it up as a filler qualification so he could continue with his media BTEC and already being predicted a distinction in it. He has always been the behind camera type, excellent at scripts and story writing, directing and producing but never ever had an interest in acting at all.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I have always said my taste is eclectic. Could not be more different to my training. I like trance too, tremendously. Two of the things I most wish I had been able to work on ...i listen with envy....are both trance.
You know dh and I met when both working in the music industry? It was not my 'home' classical, and it was not his jazz world. We were both laying stuff down for someone else to fiddle with.0 -
