I'm a socialist who want lower taxesimpossible.
I was a little disappointed that there was a key question missing. The one that asks "Which candidate would you most like to take you to a candlelit dinner and sing 'Let's Stay Together' to you?" There can only be one winner there:o. I am biased. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Similarly to missk, I have no idea who the two who aren't Obama or Romney are...0 -
We cracked and plugged in portable heaters yesterday. It was too cold.
Parent has one in bedroom any way. It was lovely last night, but this morning, about three quarters of an hour after the timer for the one in our room came on I can a dream I was burning in hell.
Cats enjoyed it though.
Needless to say, the dogs have one already too.
The wet plaster colour looks super dark this morning. I'm surprised by it.0 -
Just found out by the dreaded Facebook that one of my uncles has died. In one way it was a hell of a shock but in another, it saved dad the difficult job of breaking it to us kids.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
This brought a smile to my faceAmancio Ortega, the billionaire founder of Zara, goes into a blue collar bar in Barcelona. Three men drinking at a table see him, stand up — and cheer. “Why?” asks Amancio. “Have you any idea,” one of the men replies, “what you have just done for our average income?”

Well the big race today Gen, any idea what is going to win?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

So, our postal vote stuff came today and I started reading gumph on who the candidates are for the police commisioner here. One stands head and shoulders above the rest, shows knowledge of crime prevention ( having discussed this with people who know) and gives actual figures of aim and research. It's a no brainer. On the main party candidates look like puddings in comparison, with vague aims and wishes.

I think that is better. When I had sad news, I just put a message on FB asking people not to post on my wall. Those that were in the loop twigged that something had happened and got in touch via private message or outside of facebook.
Putting direct messages on facebook runs the risk of kids finding things out before they can be told by an adult. I know of kids who have found out that their dog/ cat/ rabbit/ goldfish has gone to animal heaven on the school bus.
Personally I cannot see the need to be FB friends with other people's kids.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
