Get the torch app for your mobile phone.

They actually do a pretty good job.

According to my local aquarium shop, fish tanks with just aquatic plants in them are quite the 'in thing' now. (Well, maybe a few Armano shrimp in there)

    Is that an option?

    (Yes, yes, I know it's not a terrarium :D)

    Forget aquatic plant tanks!

This is the next big thing (honest).

I wonder if I can justify yet another fish tank to Mrs Kab. I don't think one tank per burffday is over indulgent, do you?

I don't think you can have gas central heating without the electric. Make beds by the log fire and snuggle up!

So are Newsnight going to name a politician or not?

Nikki let us know how the fireworks go. The display here is big but always extremely (10k people?) crowded.
    I think....

My BIL refuses to have gas central heating installed, he much prefers real open fires (with plug in rads as back up). It's always a treat going round in the winter.

I've just started using one of those alarm clocks with a light so it is like being woken up by sunrise (got it last year when they were super cheap in tesco). Its a bit tempramental, and the controls are badly designed, but it is nice being woken up by light rather than by beeping! We'll see how it goes in the depths of winter however...

It wouldn't work for me then....my bedroom does not have curtains (I like seeing the night sky), so I stay asleep as it gets lighter naturally now.

I can even sleep with the light on, for one strange reason, when I am having a stomach/bowel episode, I can go to sleep with the light on but not when the room is dark!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

We had a power cut. Odd all the things that don't function but shouldn't need power:

    phone
    laptops
    gas boiler
    gas hob

The laptops gave out more light than the candles, but without the internet wasn't that useful. so used the mobile to search for the power cuts phone number.

Lit the logfire, found the torch in the dark, used torch to find the old phone that doesn't require plugging in and cooked dinner on the gas hob. Is it possible to run the boiler with no electric?

Routers rewire electric, cordless phones like wise ( I know have an old one to plug in in blackouts) boilers have an electric element, no idea about gas cookers/ hobs

Awwwww!!! I'm snuggled beneath my blanket that is the same as your blanket. Nowhere near as adorable, though I do try ;)

Double triple thanks for that one! (Sizes up dog vs. pattern on blanket vs. handbag collection for dognapping napping dogs)
