No .... they charge £5-6 to stand in the cold and look up .... anybody that interested can stand within a mile and look up for free :) - but I've no desire to stand, alone, in a street and look up in the cold.

I'm debating whether to stand, alone, in a street and look up in the cold...

I think I will. I haven't been out to see fireworks in years, even though I did quite want to. I've also had a glass of wine with my dinner (well, it is Friday), so its seeming like a better idea :)

If you were free tomorrow you would be very welcome to come and watch some with us.

Thats very kind of you to offer :) I am free pretty much every evening at the moment (my mum asked me last night whether I had made any friends at work and whether I had any plans for the weekend - I think she was hoping that I was sitting next to some eligible male). I think the ones around here are only about a 5-10 min walk (without taking getting lost into account), so I am going to go tonight. The second glass of wine had a casting vote :rotfl:

I can hear loads of fireworks going off... too many trees to stand a chance of seeing them... but, bizarrely, LL's not making the sort of "getting ready to go out" noises I sometimes hear.... so it looks like I'll have to go out.... but just down the road/park up and have a fag :)

Oh I couldn't share with a smoker!!! Smoking is strictly outside.... what if she sets fire to the place????? Then there's the stench :)

Anyone got any ideas for this?
    I'm struggling.
Don't need it for a snake or anything, it is for a plant/plants.
Google is not being my friend...:(

According to my local aquarium shop, fish tanks with just aquatic plants in them are quite the 'in thing' now. (Well, maybe a few Armano shrimp in there)

    Is that an option?

    (Yes, yes, I know it's not a terrarium :D)

There's a place on Sussex St in Sydney that sells really nice ones. Let me know when you're picking it up and I'll stand you some lunch.

We had a power cut. Odd all the things that don't function but shouldn't need power:

    phone
    laptops
    gas boiler
    gas hob

The laptops gave out more light than the candles, but without the internet wasn't that useful. so used the mobile to search for the power cuts phone number.

Lit the logfire, found the torch in the dark, used torch to find the old phone that doesn't require plugging in and cooked dinner on the gas hob. Is it possible to run the boiler with no electric?
