...the trains in this area have the wheelchair space in the 1st class carriages.
    There's an MSE tip :)
Pick up a 2nd hand chair ..... every time you want to go by train :)

Only time I've been in first I had no ticket, so was blagging it all the way to London. I didn't know you got free drinks and I had no money; they came round with a trolley and were asking about 3-4x if I wanted a drink and I thought I'd have to pay for it so always said "No".

Ah for the free drinks and food, you had to show a 1st class ticket.....but the surroundings were great, nice big comfy seats for the boys, quiet and warm.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yeah, it's amazing how the wealthy live :)
No food was offered/available on the route I was on. Having a trolley in Cornwall is unusual as there's usually no buffet car or anything similar after Plymouth. Often there's not even a train.

Remember people saying how they liked American sweets? I have been bored so I have taken an inventory of what I have:

    Almond Joy
    Butterfinger
    Crunch (Nestle)
    Dots
    Kit Kat
    Lemon Head
    Laffy Taffy
    M&Ms chocolate
    M&Ms peanut
    Milk Duds
    Milky Way
    Musketeers
    Nerds
    Now and Later cherry
Peanut Chews (original dark, milk choclatey)
    Reeses Peanut Butter cups
    Reeses Fast Break
    Sassy Sours
    Skittles
    Snickers
    Tootsie Rolls (4 different sizes)
    Tootsie Roll lemon
    Tootsie Roll lime
    Tootsie Roll vanilla
    Toy Story jellies
    Twizzlers
    Werther's Original apple and caramel
    Whoppers

Most of which I can't stand. So if there's ever an NP meet up on the horizon, please feel claim to select your favourites and I'll keep them. After all, they are American sweets so have a life expectancy similar to the radiation at Chernobyl.

Viva you always sound so sorted and metropolitan to me, so forgive me for asking if it's intrusive but.... how did you end up with an extensive collection of imported sweeties that you don't like?

    :rotfl:
    Sorted and metropolitan. That's funny.

I've just come back from the States. When anyone at work goes on holiday they have to bring some food back from where they have been, so I have brought back 1.2kg of candy (approx - that's how much more my bag weighed when I put it in). However when I came back, people on here were talking about their favourite US sweets. I can't understand this because I think it's horrid stuff (with the exception of Peppermint Patties) so I thought I'd post an inventory in case anyone wanted any.

Big dog loves him, dog dog is fuming and keeps trying to cover him with the fleece throw so she doesn't have to look at him. The cats are divided. One has hissed off in a rage the other is intrigued.

He came all the way home clean and without making a peep and did a widdle in the garden with ours when he got here.

He is really self contained but funny.

I imagine his ID tag contains the info:
    name : curly dog
    owner : lostinrates
    if found, call xxxxxx

westie dog has now decided he is scared of fireworks after all. it wasn't a problem year 1 and year 2, but now he starts to growl and produce funny noises like 'wawowawl' whenever there's a bang.
