I love wood, but it isn't ideal for high work, especially now decorators are expected to scaffold to work high under H&S. Sadly my roof woodwork will probably be replaced over the next couple of years for this reason.
I miss the satisfying clunk of the Crittalls in the house I lived in when I was younger. What was also really good about those was that their fittings turned inside out, so even three storeys up you could clean the windows without a ladder. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

We have friends who have wood at first, ground/ basement level but plastic on seond storeys. It's barely detectable from ground level. But does mean you have to choose and stick to a paint colour.
I think it will be interesting to see how good this ten year paint really is. If it does ten years then IMO worth it.0 -

The funniest thing is that in spite of the wheezing, my breath function (sorry have forgotten name of test already - I really am Dory) is 120% of what it should be even though doesn't appear to be what it is normally. Apparently this is very good. I was quite surprised at that.
peak flow?
that is good, i am only 107% and i do stupid amounts of cardio exercise. smoking probably doesn't help it though...0 -

I don't know the difference, but it was FEV1 and FVC and some other number. Does that make sense? I was asked to do the test 3 times so I wonder if they believed the result but it came out the same every time.
FEV1 and FVC were both 120% and there was a third number that was 100%. It was also based on my weight and height, not sure if age was also factored in. I don't go to the gym, don't do any cardio but I try to move around a lot in my job. I'm pretty strong and used to be a reasonable sprinter but I've got b*gger all stamina for that five miles on a bike or 15 minutes on a cross trainer. I can happily stay on my feet and walk all day though, as long as it isn't up a volcano in 40 degree heat (as I've discovered to my cost before now). I have no idea what any of this means....
Probably something along the lines of - hey you weight too much - but most people your weight are couch potatoes. Congratulations! If you insist of remaining a blob at least you'll be a fit one (relatively speaking). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Dh had a work review today where they went through a checklist and at the end told him he had met all the targets they expected of some one qualified for the number of years this checklist referred todance waited til this point then pointed out that he had three more years till he was actually at that pointand......the reviewers thought he was three years more qualified than he is. Pfffft. The organisation where he works is really, really carp at times.0

Could some one pm him, let him know we are missing him/concerned? We might all need to to fill his pm box so that he gets an email.0 -
