Nice people thread part 7 - a thread in its prime

I think I am about 24. I also think I am brunette. I am neither of those things any more and some days recently I have felt every one of my years and some extra.
The low point this week has got to have been being described in this thread as a coffin dodger. Should we ever meet in RL the poster of that can stop worrying about their wisdom teeth as I will prabably knock them out with the punch I will throw.
Mr Spirit has been awating a quote for some dentistry. He has sent a text to me today to say he has the email and that he thinks he will have to sell a kidney. It is £8-10,000:eek:
It would probably be cheaper to have a couple of LIR's white ceramic stoves installed. He would not be able to eat toffees though.
I apologise wholeheartedly and will delete all age-related posts and ask others to do so. It was an idle comment not aimed at anyone in particular and I would rather withdraw from the thread than cause offence. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
NI wouldn't worry about the ceramic stoves.
Having found tiles for the bathroom, and the utility room, and felt very smug about feeling some control over the whole thing (although with some bills waiting till Thursday and payday)..the architect warned me he is sending me a bill.....which we can always pay in installments as , um....he knows it's......sizable. Ouch. He didn't tell me how much.0 -

And I thought FC's cat dentistry was expensive! :eek:0 -

I'm sure it was tongue in cheek.

So, day 2 is done and dusted. Morning started off quite gently, had a health and safety thing scheduled for an hour, but as most of it was covered yesterday it only took 2 minutes. Then a meeting with some people who do what part of my job involves. Think I managed to keep up with a fair proportion of what they were saying which was ok. Then another meeting this afternoon about what the main part of my job involves. Oh dear.
I'm not sure what I said in my interview that convinced them that I was the right person for the job, I was largely making it up/ rambling about things I learnt ages ago (not using correct jargon etc). And this isn't even a just playing-in-the-lab kind of a job, its 'informing future practice' type stuff. Yikes.
Sounds interesting though0 -

Last weekend we were talkng about our plans for a winter holiday and as 2013 is a big anniversary year we were considering a range of things.....take a large villa somehere in Europe and invite friends & family, just the two of us to the Maldives, Seychelles or Caribbean.
So I am sitting here weighing up choices...husbands teeth or any of the above . :think:0 -

I do have younger kids aged 6 & 7. I'm in my early 40s but I look slightly younger as I am careful to use sunscreen in a country where sun damaged skin is the norm.
The older Generalissimo is off to hospital to have a tooth encased in metal. That's $5,000 down the drain in out of pocket expenses with the insurance paying the same again and Medicare putting in a decent sum too.0 -
I think it is an awful lot of money too.

I can recommend the two of you in the Maldives.
If you need the teeth as well then compromise on the * of hotel. Unlike some places where 3* means 2*, the standard of service out there means that 4* means 5*.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
