Heroes 970g tin
Quality Street 1.16k (usually £9.99)
Roses 1.3k tin
Celebrations 975g
Toblerone minis and Quality Street caramel/toffee and fudge!
The prices range from £6.99 -£9.99 so 2 for £9 is good value (except for your waisline!!)

The best thing is though the BOGOF takes off £9.99 not just £9.00 on Quality Street not sure about the others so an even better saving!! :j

• Hello all, i know im back now - was a bit illusive for a while. Glad to see everyone is doing really well with their christmas shopping and i love the pot of gold idea too - think i might steal that for a few peoples hampers actually..................(paragraph)............................anyway i have a question for some. I for some reason have some extra money this month about £100 adn im wondering do i spend it on presents ready for chrismtas then risk the boys not liking the gifts???.......OR.......put the money into getting things for hampers??.......OR........put £50 or £48 (whatever!) on a tescos food stamp card so i know our food is covered and thats one less thign to worry about??......OR......do i just get ahead with bills??
Time to find me again
• The Pot 'O' Gold idea is u take a small bag or box (preferably gold) and fill it with gold chocolate coins, a lucky dip lottery ticket and a scratch card. Then add the following poem to a gift tag.

To finish off all the presents
Here is a little pot of gold
A festive nibble
And some good cheer
To see you through the cold
I hope it will make
All of your dreams come true
Have a very merry Christmas
From all of us to you
(or from me to you)

Sorry i tried to search for the original poster but cant for the life in me find it. So if your out there a big huge thanks from me. I think its a fantastic idea although i would be most upset if the person i gave it too won the big jackpot and didn't share hee hee (joke)

Hope that helps

The pot of gold always gos down well :)

Last year I made these up but used wine glasses and set them at the table with everyones name painted on with gold paint, a gold ribbon round the stem with the label attached.

The poem I used was a shorter version:

This glass of gold is just for you,
To wish that all your dreams come true
Have a Merry Christmas
from all of us to you.

• OMG it's sooo nice to know that I am not the only one that starts early! :P

Ok I say that like I do it every year when this is actually the first year I've managed it, but it's a start, right? The year before last I was really organised. Last year I was completely disorganised, mostly due to work and health issues. So this year I was sooo determined that I checked out the January Sales and because I love shopping I thought I'd put it to good use. So whilst everyone thinks I'm barking mad, I do seem to have been ok when it comes to organisation.

And whilst I haven't saved any money or vouchers or anything throughout the year :(, I have worked out that come this pay day I should have no more debt, apart from a £600 overdraft on another account, which I am not paying interest on.:D So I'm going with the attitude that if I can manage to stay out of my overdraft until January 2008 then I can start paying off the overdraft in January 2008, bit by bit. If I can get through Christmas and still not be in my overdraft (woo hoo) for the first time in about 5 years then I should be safe to start paying off the other overdraft and hopefully have managed to pay for Christmas. :p

Hopefully I don't sound like i'm kidding myself and it will actually happen, but only time will tell :)

So all that it remains for me to say is hope everyone else has a GREAT Christmas and don't spend too much! :)

I am now going to drive everyone nuts at work with the '100 days to go' countdown :) (2 of my colleagues are scrooges. :()

Love and hugs everyone... 'it's Chriiiiiistmas' fa al al la la la la la la
• This thread has made me get myself into gear, September is early for me, usually its the December Dash. I've just been on Avon.co.uk (via Quidco) and spent £85.75  but feeling pretty pleased with my little haul (got 20 presents for that). Almost everything I bought was on offer up to 75% off, so should have cost £116.50 at full price but I also got £12.86 back on quidco and a whole list of freebies including a mens leather watch, 2 x handcream & 2 x manicure gloves, a Christian Lacroix (sp?) bag containing mascara, skin firming cream and lipstick worth £50, a perfume sample and free delivery :T

Still got lots left to buy but I did get a lot of the little stuff and some perfume & aftershave for my mum and stepdad thats was £18 each (and came with the free watch and bag).

Loads of stuff on there for kids at the minute, if you're stuck for stocking fillers (esp for little girls) theres some really cute stuff reduced.
• ...and I've been saving up for xmas for the first time ever, got around £300 in quidco which I think I'll take out in November, around £15 in pigsback and about £70 in a change jar so xmas should be covered. The only thing I haven't taken into account is the fact I'm working xmas day so I don't get the pleasure of seeing people open their gifts :(

I intend doing some hampers and baking some shortbread and mince pies etc nearer the time, have to get my holiday out of the way first (end november - 5th december) but I think I can get some pretty amber jewellery for my mum, aunt and OH's sister (Dominican Republic is renowned for its Amber jewellery apparently) and then theres cheap rum and cuban cigars for Dad, Stepdad & uncles.... xmas is all coming together nicely and I've only just started.

This threads brilliant, been getting loads of great ideas. Just wish I'd have bought cards & wrapping in Jan like a real MSE! Thanks guys :)
