    I just spent £8 in The Original Factory Shop (www.theoriginalfactoryshop.co.uk) and 6 stocking fillers. Like TJ Hughes, you have to sort through the crap to find the good.
    I got a groovy chick note book, a little pink painted wooden box, some toy dinosaurs and other bits and pieces... one well happy me.

    I think this is a fab idea and will definitely be using it at Christmas. Does anyone have any top tips about where to get cheap gold boxes or bags please ?

    clinton cards do small gold boxes for 79p each which i jazzed up last year :

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-Gold-WEDDING-FAVOUR-GIFT-BOXES-WITH-LIDS_W0QQitemZ320157751807QQihZ011QQcategoryZ98743QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    that sort of size but less jazzy without the bow!!

    EDIT: JUST REALISED THE DEAL IN THE EBAY LINK IS QUITE GOOD! WORKS OUT AT 35p a box. I HASTEN TO ADD THIS IS NOT MY LISTING, JUST LOOKING FOR AN EXAMPLE OF THE BOX SIZE IN CLINTONS! BUT THIS WORKS OUT BETTER!

    Have you thought about the hot choc mugs?....

    where you buy a mug pop a satchet of hot chocolate in (or I have just put hot chocolate in a plastic bag and tied with curling ribbon), a chocolate flake and mini marshmallows (if you making a few buy the cookery ones in the baking section of supermarkets. Some people put chocolate coated spoons in too. Wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon.
    And you can also pop this rhyme on.

    Was told you've been real good this year
    Always glad to hear it
    With freezing weather drawing near
    You'll need to warm the spirit
    So here's a little Snowman Soup
    Complete with stirring stick
    Add hot water, sip it slow
    It's sure to do the trick!

    ====
    Have you a sewing machine or could borrow one?...if so you could make wheat/heat bags for everyone using different fabrics suitable for them. Great for aches and pains or to have to cuddle up on the sofa with. I.e. bob the builder for nephew, camoflage, hearts or groovy tiger print for girls? pretty flowers for granny, etc. etc. You can add lavender too if you wish. So simple to make up. You can buy the wheat on the internet in bags if you need lots to make up for everyone.

    How about a really cheap one for someone you really care about lol A box of hugs ;) just tie a ribbon around and pop this poem on:

    This is a very special gift, that you can never see.
    The reason it's so special is it's just for You from Me.
    Whenever you are lonely or are ever feeling blue.
    You only have to hold this gift and know I'm hugging you.
    You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied.
    Just hold the box close to your heart it's filled with hugs inside

    ======
    Purchase a small gift bag and fill with the items below, along with a label explaining each token.

    Guardian Angel Survival Kit?

    Toothpick - Pick out the good qualities in everyone, including yourself.
    Bandaid - To heal hurt feelings.
    Gum - Think before you "Chew" others out.
    Smiley Face - Because smiling is contagious
    Guardian Angel - Because everyone needs one.
    Pencil - To write down your days blessings.
    Eraser - To remind you always start each day with a clean slate.
    Sticky Tape - To tape your lips when you have nothing good to say.
    Star - To reflect what you can be.
    Sand paper - To smooth out the rough edges.
    Glitter - To make things sparkle.
    Velcro dot - Help you get a grip on things.
    Rubber Band - To stretch you beyond your limits.
    Paper clip - To keep things together.
    Candle - To light up your path.

    add an angel label or something similar...angel stamp

    ooops I'm not sure how the writing got that large lol

    They are brilliant where do you find these great ideas??? thanks so much :T

  • I got the hot choc mug idea off of here last year and it went down well.
    The box of hugs I have given to my children every year for the past 19 years lol.
    I have an angel dust poem, a reindeer poem and a couple of others ones on my computer somewhere...I'll keep looking and post when I find them.
  • If you have young children try a bag of chocolate coated raisins with this poem on:
    We were awakened when we heard Santa call,
    "Dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
    But soon we discovered out on the front lawn,
    Santa and his reindeer were gone.
    With our little shovels, we started to scoop,
    all of the droppings.....YUCK, reindeer poop!
    So, then we generously filled you up a sack,
    Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your snack

    or
    Santa saved a precious gift
    And it's especially for you.
    Just a little something extra
    And it comes from Rudolph, too!
    =======
    SANTAS KEY
    On an old rusty key hang a piece of ribbon/string and add this rhyme:
    Santa this ole key is a magical kind
    And we're leaving it out for you to find
    Cause for you tonight it will open any door
    So you wont have to slide down chimneys anymore
    =======
    Reindeer food
    To give before christmas...porridge oats and a little sparkly glitter in a bag
    and add this poem;

    When Santa's sleigh is full of toys
    Ready for Christmas Day
    Use this special magic dust
    To help him find his way.
    Just sprinkle it outside your door
    The glitter will be their light
    The smell of oats will draw the reindeer
    And bring Santa on Christmas night
