I think this is a fab idea and will definitely be using it at Christmas. Does anyone have any top tips about where to get cheap gold boxes or bags please ?0 -
I've bought small gold organza bags from Wilkinsons before but I'm not sure if they are in store this year.0

I posted on here a coupled of weeks ago about saving my piggypoints for boots vouchers and someone said they weren't available and hadn't been for months.. well I applied for them last Thursday and they arrived today.. maybe worth checking if you've been waiting a while because mine took 8 days to get here!!! I didn't get the arcadia vouchers yet mind.. £160 of vouchers!! That should cover main presents for 2 of the children at least.. one is having a camera and the others want a nintendo DS.. each!!! Yep.. thats fine.. except there are 6 want them!!! I may buy direct from the manufacturer see what discount they are offering lol!!!
I've got my new boiler installed now (well yesterday actually) so now I can move on to thinking about christmas gifts.. I'm getting my mother a couple of paintings but I cannot for the life of me remember the artist or find the pics online.. best text my sister and ask her so I can order them now!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Have a look on ebay for gold wedding favour bags - you should be able to pick a bag of 10 for about £2.10 inc postage. I have just done a quick search and this is one ebayer selling them
Hope this helps - just a note if they are organza then the material is soft and flimsy so ideal for filling up with coins. Lurex ones are a lot stiffer

Or why not save the same size jam jars, preferably with gold/brass coloured lids and decorate them. The original 'pot of gold lol'. Helps the enviroment tooxXx Vanda xXx0 -
Nipped into Primark today and bought my 12 yr old cousins Christmas present.
1 pink and white cami top and briefs set decorated with hearts £2.50
1 silver heart shaped necklace and earrings set £1.00
1 pair pink heart patterned socks £1.00. (These are from a pack of three, one with a butterfly and one stripey pair which I'll keep fro me!)
Will search round for some bath foam/shower gel in pink and if possible with hearts on and then she'll be sorted....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Went into Sainsbury;s earlier and they have reduced a lot of their school stuff! I got pencil cases reduced from £4 to 50p! I got a pink flurry one with a little silver heart charm that I'm going to use in "pamper hamper" for my best friend who;s getting married in Antigua in january, so I'm going to fill it with freebie sachets of nice toiletries and a mini bottle of Vera Wang Princess perfume I got free (thanks to this site!) plus loads of other stuff for the flight etc!
Other stationery they had were packs of 3 glue sticks 29p, disney princess exercise books 89p, scented felt tips 79p plus loads and loads of other stuff! The pencil cases alone were worth it as they make fab little make up bags!. Will make up an "art/craft kit" for my 5yr old dd! She loves all that sort of thing!

I did the pot of gold idea last year, i decorated a old nutella spread jar with glass paints and then popped in gold coins and a lottery ticket with the poem and it went down well, this year i had 40 favour bags for £4 so will use them to pop themin and give them to the teachers with a lottery ticket in, better than giving something they wont use and if they win you never know they might share it!:A :j0
