Both parents have loads of mugs so i'm trying to avoid those. And I have a small budget of around £15 per basket (so £30 in total). Any ideas please?
if they like those belgian seashell chocolates then get down to Lidl - they're selling reasonable sized boxes of those, a branded box (although i forget which one) for i think £1.29 or something like that!!

I can only find small remkins, and i want a large one. Does anyone know where i can pick one up as cheaply as possible.
if you don't have any luck at Morrisons, hon, then you can get glass bowls from Wilkos for a few quid that are the right size (pudding basins), and you can cover them with greaseproof paper/foil (make sure you put a fold in, though, so that there's room in there for it to expand) and tie it on with string. if you do it this way, once its cooked and cooled down, i would replace your "lid" with a fresh one before you put it away in a cool dark place (and don't do what mom did one year and forget where she put it).
I have to say the plastic ones with the lids are much easier though!! I got a couple from an online place last year, although a forget exactly where. Lakeland probably do em too.

normally i would agree with you, but if you're absolutely flat broke in the way that we are (we're on benefits) then there's no point in doing this because we just don't have the money to put towards things, nor do we spend enough at Tescos.. I don't, for the most part, do magazines anyway, and to be honest, I'd rather put the money towards christmas booze or something like that.
To each their own, really, while i know i can get more for my money i'm happy with saving them for christmas, and it means i can get a bottle or two of something good (port or something!) for absolutely nothing.

If you aren't using the points for deals I would suggest selling them on Ebay, you get more than the value back, have a look at completed listings...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/22-50-Tesco-club-card-vouchers-worth-90-in-deals_W0QQitemZ260152083516QQihZ016QQcategoryZ109197QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem for example and that isn't even finished yet £40 for £22.50, money for nothing then you can use it for what you want.
Anyway, I ordered some presents (Transformers) for DSs today which stupidly thought great get them delivered when they are at school, then realised they have another week off, I hope they arrive concealed!
Suppose there is one thing at Christmas, I don't buy any alcohol at all.One day I might be more organised...........

I would be very wary of doing this - I'm on benefits and would rather not take the chance!
There's rarely anything in the deals that I'm interested in so, for me, it would be really useful to convert to Christmas savings voucher; I didnt know this was an option either so thanks Kethry!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Lol - i think i will jsut stick ot mine beign delivered every few months because that way if we have a short month then i know i have them to fall back on if you get me. We are on tax credits becasue both me and bf work (bf 30 hrs a week and me 11hrs a week) but we are by no means financially stable so its handy to have them about - i dont really do magazines either and the ones the deals are for bf doesnt read. Plus we arent really big drinkers (as proof - i brought bf a bottle of Jack Daniels christmas 2006 adn he still has a third of it left) i dont drink at all so our vouchers go on our food shop totally so we get our christmas dinner free effectively. Plus i bake alot before chrismas so it doesnt even go on treats.Time to find me again0

I got a few pudding basins today, the ceramic ones, for my home made Christmas puds. 2 from Wilkinson's, but it does not say on them whether dish washer proof, freezer proof etc, but i assume they will be ok in the slow cooker, if they can be used in the cooker. I also picked up 2, 1 liter Pyrex dishes, as they are good all round, and thought if the others fail i ca definitley use these.. I plan on making a few and giving some as gifts.0

Was in B&M today and they had a lot of Revlon lip glosses, and color stay lipsticks ( American but just the same as we get here) and Maybeline Mascara, and Rimmell mouse blushers, all for 99p some 1.99 i picked up some lip glosses that are $.99 in boots for 99p going to put them in my daughters stocking.
They were also unloading lots of cute gift set, House of Frazer amongst others.
I dont know if this is in every B&M but worth a check. This was the one in Harpurhey, Manchester.0
