won't do cards again this year (last Christmas donated a fiver each to PDSA and Cats Protection)
Hoping someone has some cheap wrapping paper soon, so long as its red or gold foil it doesn't matter if it is standard or christmas range
got to think should i be lazy and buy a cake (not very MSE) or make one with loads of lovely cherries and ginger wine (and risk it going wrong)Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -

I have most of my presents planned and have just bought the materials for a jumper I'm going to knit for DH. I picked up a couple of DVDs for him a few weeks ago as well.0

Hi tine, lovely bag and well done to you. I think that when someone puts extra effort into the making of something so lovely the gift is even more appreciated. Lots of gifts are bought and we know so many people are getting the same gift somewhere, so to have one unique to you is special. I have never tried to crochet but i knit, and i would love to learn how to. I feel it is complicated but i know if i could learn then i would enjoy it.Do a little kindness every day.;)0

It's honestly not that hard
Well it can't be if I can learn it! Check for the 99p learn to crochet kits in local pound shops or Wilkinsons etc They give you a good head start!
All I need now is a sewing machien so I can make the liners for the handbags lol!!!! Don't supposed you have one of them? :rotfl:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hi everyone out there. I am enjoying reading all your tips and ideas. Thank you for them:xmassmile My husband and i counted out £9 yesterday in coins (5p 2p 1p) and bagged them all up(we collect them in an empty ice cream container washed out first of course:rolleyes: and as the bank only takes 5 bags of coins at one time we had £5 in 5ps, £1 in 2ps 2 bags and another 2 bags of 1ps and we added some money we had gathered up as well so we banked £40 in our joint regular saver account which we started about 2 months ago. We are saving up £2 coins as well and have £22 saved in these so far which will go into same account. We opened this account with £25 and we arranged for the bank to take out £40 a month(saving £10 a week) and i love a passbook as i love to see the money grow in it, and it is a great feeling to be able to do this. I raised my 6 children alone for a long time(on benefits) and went out to work when the youngest child was at school(part time work) and it was not easy and the money was always tight for us, as anyone out there in a similar position will know. Married to my lovely wonderful husband 5 years now and times are easier money wise and all the children are now adults, but i have never lost the o/style ways and enjoy saving and get such a buzz from saving tips and that is why i love this wee community here. Thank you everyone for what you all put in:A xxDo a little kindness every day.;)0

Hi everyone:) Just a little question here. Has anyone who shops in Tesco ever noticed how the value tins of say peas carrots sweetcorn go up in price coming up to Christmas? I noticed this and it is a craft move by Tesco. They also don't seem to have in stock the ready to bung in the oven turkey .in tinfoil containers which serve about 2 to 3 people and the bigger one which serves 4 to 5 people when they have the frozen turkeys and fresh ones in too Not very nice Mr T to us peolpe who are trying to keep our grocery costs down. I just stock up ahead of then for the tins i need and the tins of fruit as well of course:)Do a little kindness every day.;)0
