Well I've had a detailed look through my present box and am feeling confident that our friends are sorted! Just family to go now and the sales are on at the moment for our younger family in terms of games and clothes, so I might ahve to be quick and get in there for some more gifts!
On another matter, my stock of vouchers is growing nicely, but just looked on pigsback and, unless my eyes are deceiving me, it doesn't appear they give out John Lewis/waitrose vouchers now. If someone could confirm this I'd be grateful! Looks like it might ahve to be Boots again after all! Oh well!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

They have some on ebay don't know if its the kind you mean tho but worth checking they don't seem to be expensive.0 -
Hi huni brought Ben a felt advent calender last year off ebay and it cost me £5. Its nice too though and can be refused time and time again which is nice.As for stockings and bags have you tried looking in the studio catalogue as you can get them personalised for free fi you want - they are fairly inexpensive tooTime to find me again0

hee hee is that refused as in "Mummy mummy no I don't want to open today's I want to open Christmas Eve's"
although we all knew what you meant;)
I love felt ones, my best friend had one when we were wee girls, and I used to keep my chocolate from my own calendar at home and take it to hers everyday, put it in a felt pocket, then open it again.... yes I have always been a tad OTT when it comes to Christmas

Howdy peeps!!!!Just thought id let you all know that woolworths have set up their savings card scheme now if anyone wants to pick one up in store They are offering bonus' in November depending on how much you have on the card. If you have £49+ they will give you a £1 bonus, If you have £97+ they will give you £3, If you have £144+ they will give you £6, and if you have over £240+ they will give you £10>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I have 7 children to buy for in my family (excluding my son and step son) and they are a variety of ages. The boys (including my 2) are 10yrs ,2 x 6yrs ,5yrs, 4yrs and 3yrs. The girls are 4yrs, 2yrs, and will be newborn (due september). So i figure if i add £10 - £15 each month from now until december then ill have £75 to spend on them. The girls are no trouble. The 10 yr old is my main challenge as he has ADHD and is very particular about what he gets but hes really into astrology and magic lately and we have a magic shop in town so think i will get him something from there instead. Anything left over on the card can be used on bf (ps2 game) or ill treat myself to a cd!Time to find me again0

Think I'm doing ok so far...
Got all my cards, wrap and ribbon (probably will have plenty left to give to mum to use too).
Got a good start on mum's gifts, one that is pamper hamper-ish (12 things still to put in it), one that's Christmas/church based, and one that's Disney themed.
Got dad's garden type things all in, and a Disney themed one started.
We always give mum and dad Euros too for their holiday. They both work so hard all year and me and my brothers like them to have a bit of a splurge when they are away, which they'd never do with their own spending money so this is our joint present to them.
Those are the only actual things I have already bought, but counted up the other night what I had hidden away and its amazing what all those wee bits and pieces add up to, check this out... I have £70 in cash hidden away in my gift drawer (all ebay profit so far this year, thanks to all those impulse buys in the past that I can sell as Brand New With Tags), £10 Boots voucher (Pigsback) and I also have another £30 cash somewhere! Can't believe, its not til we all take stock of all that effort that you really see the benefit eh? So far all I have spent is £41.11 and with this other £110 think I might be able to bascially have Christmas covered without using any of my wages during the winter months!
Just wanted to get all of this written down as a wee thank you to everyone on this thread who is great, shares their ideas and congratulated me when I got my BA. If you knew how poorly managed my Christmas spending has been in the past you would all be soo chuffed with me!
Hope you are all well,

Hi everyone:) Yes i am in good company i see as i too have been busy buying gifts for Christmas, and i am enjoying it all. I am buying them online and am hoping to make my shortbread too for some wee gifts nicely wrapped of course:) and am hoping to knit wee things too. I have also started to collect stamps towards the food shopping and am saving coins up (1p 2p 5p and have nearly £11 saved that way. They soon add up and i enjoy counting them all and putting them in to money bags (free) of course from the banks, and this money will go into our Regular Savings a/c. The banks i have been in will take up to 5 bags of coins per time.
I am making my own cards this year for family with craft materials i have bought throughout the year, and they are enjoyable to make too. It is very true that the more you have sorted for Christmas earlier the more time you will have to really enjoy those things coming up to Christmas, and not be worried and so tired with all the rushing about. I will be doing it this way every year from now on. I also enjoy finding bargains:)Do a little kindness every day.;)0 -
Wow I cant believe how well everyone is doing. Ive practically got two baskets done, 3 started and 2 more to start nearer christmas. The two i need to start nearer christmas, one is the movie night in hampers (well two small seperate ones but each one has popcorn packs divided, sweets divided etc) for my step brother and step sister. The other one is my dad and i need to order a few bits off amazon for that so ill do it soon when my debit card comes through - i have made sure i dont have an overdraft on it so fingers crossed no debts!Time to find me again0
