I've got an eleven year old niece who is a complete tomboy to buy for. Don't really want to spend above a tenner as there are five to buy for just in that one house! Any ideas?
Got her older sister a really nice lava lamp from Morrissons for £5!!0 -
I love organizedchristmas.com it's really panicked me though after seeing things I totally forgot to do like get stamps. I am a bit ahead though as i got my decs up last week
:D So far everyone I have told has been a bit funny about it and I was kind of hoping to spread christmas cheer but only got "o isnt it a bit early" in response! Is this going to be a miserable christmas. I had one of those about 5 years ago where it just didn't feel like christmas at all and everyone said the same. Do you remember that one?
If you want to look at my decs the pics are on my blog: pinkladymel.blogspot.com
I need to start getting my things wrapped too!! I held out until the tree was up so I could do it in the glow of the lights
Merry christmas!!

Oooh the Jeremy Clarkson book is a good idea! I never even thought of that :wall: Will check with exOH that nobody else has bought it. It's his birthday next week and I've got him the QI book, but he reads a fair bit during his 3-times-weekly dialysis sessions.
Amazon is OK as I have a few other items in my basket that I've been saving until I get over £15 :rotfl:
Thanks for the help!! Any idea on family presents or the secret santa?
*note to self, next year just post my gift list on here and let you lot do all the thinking* :rotfl:0 -
:mad::mad: Jeremy Clarkson book is out as somebody got there first  On the plus side, have sorted the Secret Santa out so just need exFIL and the Family present now!!
Aside from this, I have 13 items to go out and buy which have a budgeted cost of around £45 but with clever use of coupons and vouchers should cost no more than £8 :money:
Then I'm done and can start on 2008...0 -

Mel, its your house, your christmas, dont let anyone put you down about it. A few weeks ago I found a box of my favourite christmas decs which had been 'lost' for several years and was so pleased to find them again that I've had my Saint Nicholas on the dining room dresser ever since!!
I love the idea of wrapping presents and writing cards with the tree lights twinkling in the background. My kids are coming to me for an early christmas last week in november (dd and her family are emigrating early dec) so I will be putting up my decs and tree for then, really looking forward to it.
goes off to find some christmas music ....
:xmassign:... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I agree with Rosieben, Mel. You put your decs up when ever you want to put them up, like Rosieben said its YOUR CHRISTMAS. Had a look on your blog and they look fab. Wish I could have my decs up now, would have them up all year if I could.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!! xxxx0 -
Morrisons currently have big tins of Heroes and Qual Street for £4.75 - cheapest I've seen so far (altho I am sure the bargain hounds here will soon correct me with cheaper
)! I don't buy these at Christmas usually but considering it to split up for gift bags as SO cheap!

If i was going to do this it would be one for me, one for the gift bag, two for me, one for the gift bag, three for me etc etc..............none left ! :rotfl:Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0
