Im thinking all the tea if it comes in plastic bags i might rebag it in pretty pink and purple bags so keep pink and purple as the theme.
Why don't you go to one of those pottery shops and paint one yourself. Mind you, not sure how expensive that would be.
For my parents birthdays this year (they are close together) I got my two year old to splat paint on two tea plates in one of those shops and i put his name and the date on them. I gave them to them with some nice cakes.Member 105 of 1% at a time - 23/100 :j0 -

stumped!!
Well another pack of tarot cards might be an idea? Traditionally you can't buy your own tarot cards - or you're certainly not supposed to - no gold should be exchanged for tarot cards.
Only problem with tarot cards is they are not cheap in the least...
You could also try to find a throw or make one with tarot images on it - do a search on Ebay for tarot and see what pops upI'd also say she'd probably like crystals, so try and track down the latest thing they are advertising on TV with a piece of rosequartz and pyrite for only 99p and you could maybe make a pendant out of them?

I took up knitting in the New Year and if I can get to grips with it (so far I've done 2 scarves and the 1st one was decidedly wonky!) then I might be able to progress to bags or sock perhaps? Can anyone point me in the direction of a website with free patterns, or even cheap ones?
Lightspeed and pigsback points are progressing well still, so hope to do most of my shopping later in the year with the vouchers have mounted up!
Crochet is the way to go if you ask mesooo much easier then knitting (well it is for me
)

Anywho............I think today i will have a productive in house day, have bills to pay and i am going to sit down and browse about the internet for a bit for gifts i think. Im considering starting up crocheting after all ihave alot of people to buy for in total and it could make life easier and financially lighter too!!
I worked out today i have to buy for -
my 3 year old
my bf
my step son aged 6
my 3 cousins (aged 2 years, 1 year and 14 years)
another two cousins (4years and 6years)
a little niece (3years),
my sister (20)

We were a large family and decided early on to only buy gifts for the kids at christmas but as years have gone on we drifted apart and we dont buy for each other's families now.
I only give gifts to my kids and gd and as I'm on beneftis they generally have home made things like scrap albums etc. When they were all saving for deposits etc, we agreed not to buy gifts and did a secret santa for a couple of years instead; that was such a lot of fun we still do it, although the price of pressie has gone up from £5 to £15! :j
I've always made it a rule to agree with friends that we give each other no birthday or christmas present, just a nice card. We spend so much time and money trying to find a nice gift for them and they are doing the same for you, its so stressful for everyone and often we're spending money we can't really afford! If you really want to buy something, then maybe agree a price limit and go for fun pressies. We know that most people have christmas on plastic, and it would probably be a relief to them too!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

rosieben - yeah im thinking that friends and their kids i mihgt just get a little joint gift that maybe the mums and babies can enjoy - both babies are over 1 year odl so think i mihgt just get a box of maltesers for them each (at christmas and in november working for a coop i get 20% discount days so if 2 boxes are only £2 - then i get two for £1.60 which i stock pile for other other people too. Actually think i might buy 6 boxes this year - and that way each of the three friends can have a box, my step nan can have one, and one can go in the film basket for my step brother and sister with one left over for us!
My son and bf will obviously get their gifts.
BF buys all his step sons stuff.
BF buys all his familys stuff this year as i brought it all last year.
Might make little stockings for a few family members who i dont see as often, the 3 babies that are due i think ill get some cute clothes from a charity shop/ebay.
My niece will have clothes and a little summer sale toy
my sister (20) is getting a pamper hamper
my step sister 13 years
my step brother 11 years - him and my step sister (above) are getting a movie night in hamper.
my dad - is gettign a father/daughter/grandson hamper
my step mother - is getting a romantic night in hamper to share with my dad
my mum - no idea yet but a hamper of some sort
my nan - a tea for one basket
my grandad - a homemade shortbread selection basket
wow thats everyone done basically. WOOHOO!!!! Looks like it could be a pretty cheap christmas for us!!! besides my sons and bfs of course!!!Time to find me again0 -

let me know what you thing please??
I've seen some very pretty tea cups/pots in Superdrug recently that are blue or pink and polka dotty and the last time I was in there they were reduced to something very reasonable.
Also I was in Woolies today and they had some plain pale pink china itmes for 99p each....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

And its my sons birthday in 3 weeks time so think i had better put christmas on the back burner until these important dates are out of the way - then its only bf left in June then!Time to find me again0 -
I never used to think about christmas until after my eldest son and DIL had thier birthdays 9th 10th December. But you lot have been a good influance and I am well away. Bought all crackers gift wrap tags and cards in Jan sales. I have been using my pigsback vouchers to buy gifts in boots. So come Christmas I should only have my DS the third and DD daughter the second to buy for. All family and friends sorted I think. I may still knit some gifts on my knitting machine, I usually do a few, whatever is that years trend. One of the most popular presents last year was a beauty hamper for my then 12 yo DD almost entirely filled with freebies and a few mega bargains. Also the stash of boots stuff has been coming in very useful for birthdays, engagements already this year. Only this morning the kids wanted raffle prizes for the school fair in exchange for an out of uniform day tomorrow and I just had to delve in a couple of bags. So thanks everyone for getting me going last year.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
