wow thats everyone done basically. WOOHOO!!!! Looks like it could be a pretty cheap christmas for us!!! besides my sons and bfs of course!!!

I think you have it sorted!! ;) Good idea to buy the chocs for friends and their children, something they will all enjoy.

And wont it be nice that you wont have last minute panics to find the right pressie, and then run out of cash so have to put on cc and then dread the bill in January! I really think thats a mug's game, I played it for so many years!

Yeah i figure maltesers is a safe bet with all the kiddies as no nuts etc.

Its exactly for that reason as well that at 23 i have never and dont intend to get a credit card - not with a bf whos £10,000 in debt too.

I am going to have a look in superdrug/woolworths and charity shops today for a tea pot and cup because i figure if i can get a hamper done every two months then it will be well sorted before christmas now - im still no further along on my mums hamper though - i found a cool site that does pyrography into wooden boxes but every time i press the link i cant see the contact address and its driving me nuts.
If anyone can help me out by seeing it for me the site is http://www.scorchpyro.co.uk
i just need the contact email to ask abotu prices!
I figure i can get my mum one of these, put tarot cards in it in silk, and get her a few other little bits rather than a big hamper.

Ive also sorted out bens birthday list too so he is sorted. BF want sto go to the motorbike racing the weekend after his birthday so think ill save some money so he can buy some stuff there.

Now have to go to town and find somethign for my fathers birthday! Im seeign him tomorrow and have no idea what to get him - may as well give it to him tomorrow because his birthday is on tuesday and he lives about 3 ours away!
    Time to find me again

How well I know that feeling! I'm discharged from bankruptcy and its such a relief to have no worries about cc limits etc., life is so much simpler. For online buying I have a pre-paid Maestro and a paypal account so dont want, or need a cc. I like shopping with real money! :rotfl:

    Xmas!!! Yup started months ago.

In the January sales I picked up some bits and peices that will serve as pressies. Also thanks to their No7 £5 vouchers I have enough cosmetics to sink a battle ship. Will probably give those away too. Oh yes...and I have plenty of Boots points to work on as well.

My pigsback account is collecting nicely and will go on John Lewis / Waitrose vouchers for either food, or pressies for the family or my little girl. Between my partner and I, we have around £30 waiting to be claimed. He has £80 , whilst I have £30 stashed in claimed vouchers that we haven't used yet.

My quidco account is now up to £40 which will also be put towards xmas pressies of some sort. Still working on building it up.

Have also got a valued opions survey account that has £10 worth of vouchers sitting in it. Recently joined a mum survey site that I hope will allow me to build up some more vouchers.

This year is going to be very tight due to our new little girl, a move of house and loss of income...so anything free we can get our hands on will be useful.

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.

sam - the whittards outlet at mcarthur glen is fab for fruit teas, crockery etc at discounted prices.

if you were planning on buying clothes as presents for the kids, why not save a bit of money then shop in the woolies/adams/next summer sales? if you buy the next size up they can grow into summer clothes

I'm glad to see it's not just me getting organised this year.
I say every year that I will have everything sorted well before christmas but it never seems to work out that way.
This year up to now I have 3 christmas pressies.
120 pounds(sorry no pound sign)saved with mam aiming for 300 by november.
60 pounds in the saving club at work aiming for 250 by november.
45 pounds of tesco savings stamps aiming for at least 200 by november.
I also have some bits and pieces that I bought in the sales last year that I was going to give to the kids last year as pressies but they are still hidden away so they might eventually be used.
And my oh wonders where everything comes from every year, all because I am organised,he doesn't even know what the kids have got until they open all the pressies lol.

Ps my birthday is december so if I get any money as bday pressies that normally goes towards christmas, but this year if I do get money(mostly off parents) for bday or christmas it will be going to pay off my mortgage.

    Hi

Based on some recommendations from Martin I have bought

4 DVD boxsets, all under a tenner delivered
another DVD for £4 - out of a bargin bin at Morrison's

then also, have £97 of Morrison's saver stamps (thats a full card, Morrison's make it up to a £100 in November and December)

also, just had my annual bonus, so put £2000 into a savings pot to cover Christmas completely. The intention is not to use all of that pot of cash for Xmas 07, just whatever is needed. What is left will carry over for 2008 Xmas. I always have to wait around 7 weeks over the Xmas period between paydays at work so this will definately bridge that gap - usually it is a situation where funds have run out completely by the time January 25th payday comes around.

Intend to carry on getting a few saver stamps everytime we go shopping and also to keep looking out for deals.
