I asked you about the room stat in post 20 you stated that it was set to 21.5 in post 22, I guess that was from memory.
Still good that you finally got round to checking it.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Hi penrhyn
That reference was to the thermostat that controls the boiler and that was the temp when I read it.
Above post is re the fixed one in the garden room0 -
If you switch off the CH pump the the hot water will not circulate in the CH circuit, or only by gravity flow. The pump is only active when the boiler is on.
Hi, just to be clear on this.
The pump Im talking about was installed and is connected to the pipework of the underfloor heating.
It was on earlier and the boiler was not. is it not just circulating the hot or cold when not on! water through the underfloor system (and the rest of the house)?
My boiler is controlled by the mobile thermostat as mentioned above and not the garden room thermostat(where underfloor heating is).0 -
I thought you were referring to the CH pump...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Indeed, is the OP still with EON? Perhaps the EON Company Representative could help out.
Betelgeuse! Betelgeuse! Betelgeuse!OP?
These bills are with Eon, but Ive recently switched so now going to Scottish.
I will take a pic and try and post and I will do the bath test (couldnt do it last night, its right next door to my youngest room and it would have woken her up!).
Thanks for your advice with this guys.....
Hi eclareb
Sorry for late reply. Didn't initially think this was one of ours.
Already some excellent advice on here. Just thought I would add a couple of things.
You say the bills are based mainly on accurate meter readings. In this case, I agree with jalexa (post number 26) and dogshome (post number 28).
Either the meter is wildly inaccurate or you're actually using the gas somewhere.
If it's the former, you'll need to take this up with your new supplier. They'll now be responsible for the meter.
Although, if it turns out the meter is at fault, you'll need to come back to us so we can look at past bills again.
If it's the latter, we'll still be happy to advise even though you've switched. I'd recommend talking to our Energy Efficiency team.
Tell them about your house, heating and appliances. They specialise in helping people understand their usage and ways they can cut back.
Won't help with past bills, I know, but might be useful going forward.
Don't rely too much on our online Energy Tracker. It's only meant as a guide. Sometimes, a rogue meter reading or an estimate can throw it out. Always best to keep a handle on the meter readings as you're now doing.
Sorry I can't be of more help eclareb but hope this is of interest.

Looks like a bit of a cheapskate control has been installed on the UFH. According to the link penrhyn posted the UFH pump should only run when the gardenroom stat calls for heat and house control selects heating on and heat is available at the pump.0

Thought you might be interested to know that the Worcester engineer came out today.
The supply to the boiler was only just over 5 and he said it should be 24?
So he has turned the whole thing off!.... Great.
The pipe at the boiler and at the meter is 22gauge/mm (not sure) and all he was kept saying is it needs a bigger pipe.
(Also let me assure you there was nothing 'cheap' about the cost of the installation of the underfloor heating).0
