The kWh figures are correct for a metric meter.
Are your bills based on actual readings?

Those conversions are correct for a metric meter.

In summer you are using 2 metric units a day, in winter 15 a day. To put this into perspective in mid winter I keep my heating on 24/7 with the house at 20 deg + keep conservatory on low heat + all hot water and use 12 units a day (winter 2010) max.

Well it is calculated correctly for metric meter. I would say it was rather high consumption for a summer quarter but only you can tell what use you are making. I presume mainly hot water in summer.

In a previous post you said this.."They also then fired the boiler and then went to check how much - and said as expected, it was using a minimal amount"......

That is a nonsense test. They should have run the DHW at full rated output for a long enough period to measure the metered gas consumption. Are you certain you have explained the test properly?

Im just quoting what I was told. I dont know in any detail what test he did, just checking that when the boiler was running it wasnt using excessive amounts of gas.

I absolutely have not used the central heating during the summer. Even though the weather hasnt been great! Its a new boiler and supposedly a very efficient one. Its been used only for hot water, I dont have any other gas appliances.

Does anyone have any further advise on this please?

Read the meter, start a stopwatch, fill the bath with hot water, stop the stopwatch, read the meter, post the results.

Thank you, perspective is good for me, as this is all unknown territory. Im even more confused by your usage tho. Im out at work all day and the kids are at school, so the heating isnt ever on all day. Even at weekends I dont keep it on all day.

    My readings over this week:
    20/9/12 - 18372 365 (4.30pm)
    21/9/12 - 18372 690 (11.40am)
    22/9/12 - 18372 956 (7.10pm)

    24/9/12 - 18378 023 (4.00pm)
    25/9/12 - 18378 366 (1pm)
    26/9/12 - 18380 600 (12.40pm)
    27/9/12 - 18385 352 (12noon)
    28/9/12 - 18389 715 (3.00pm)

    30/9/12 - 18398 419 (12.20pm)
    1/10/12 - 18402 304 (12.40pm)

According to my online account, these are based on readings and not estimated. My meter is outside, so they could easily do this and I wouldnt know.
