  • Shuffles in, the 39k is all spending debt, but we got a "consolidation loan" in the non lbm days and it was secured so 20k of that is at 4.7% and unless we can pay it in full we cant overpay and out mortgage is 80k so if we class it all as the mortgage is 120k of a mortgage so that leaves me 19k to shift of unsecured. what we spent it on two trips to nyc, wedding, rings etc etc i dont regret it i just wish i had been abit more sensible with things but shoulda woulda coulda :) x

  • Happy we are all thinking the shoulda woulda coulda - I think I should have awaited getting a motorbike and shoulda saved up. The bits on top of the £4000 loan cost quite a bit - and I never took into consideration the nutters that walk in front of me in London!..

However like you I don't regret it... its great fun and a fantastic way of travelling about...:T

Braddy I am sitting in front of a fire tonight adding listings onto eBay... YEAH!!! :o:o:o

  • Well what a boo hoo of today spent ages looking at numbers and making myself feel glum :O and wondering how having kids can be done when we owe what we do and how can we even consider moving when the time comes :O x

  • Braddy should we keep our eyes out for free postage on a "hyperactive 5 year old"...:rotfl:

Happy there is always a way.. waiting is not an issue these days..where there's a will there's a way, you could do the whole earth mother thing with re-usable nappies, home-made mashed up apples and hand-me-downs...it's not a bad thing.. - perhaps Braddy could help with that dilemma though.. I only have a hyperactive, disobedient tabby to look after..

11 items loaded on eBay and my eyes are about to give up.. this open fire malarky is leaving me roasted like an irish potatoe cake...

I'm off to bed soon.. so fingers crossed for exceptional bidding by folk with more money than sense...:T:T:T

Hey Happy, I'm having a bit of an emotional melt as well as I've just worked out my end of October wage v November outgoings and there's a £500 deficit  My salary varies each month, sometimes by quite a lot and it looks like my next wage is a bit of a stinker. My outgoings don't change so I need to find a way to plug the gap. Hmm, was looking forward to starting my new 450 day challenge in style. I guess in the long run it won't kill me to wait a month but I was kinda riding on your (our) pay-things-off momentum and it looks like I'll be lagging behind a bit - boo!! I'll do everything in my power to not increase the debt which, given the size of the shortfall, will be a success in itself!

So, I guess the next week or so will be spent photographing more stuff for ebay and being a bit more ruthless than usual!

When I told my landlady I bought a new sofa and asked her what I should do with her old stuff she said I could dispose of it (eh thanks, that sounds easy!) but I already found a buyer for one of her chairs who's coming to give me £15 for it during the week :j so just £485 left to find :rotfl:

Kat, I love your dad's 'Good Life' vision!!! I would love to have a garden and grow my own veggies. I neither have the space nor the time right now but I managed to grow corriander and rosemary on my windowsill :T I'd love a lime plant (I've taken to drinking iced water with lime - keeps me away from wine :rotfl:). That's as self sufficient as I'll get for a while!!

Yes, you're so right about the water. It's horrible in London. I use a filter and my kettle still needs descaled too frequently for my liking. And don't even get me started on the limescale on my shower door........

Ah, warm home made bread, cups of tea, roaring fires...I hope you're having a fab time catching up with the craic :D
  • Susie am just about to hit the sack! Gone all squinty eyed from loading stuff on eBay all evening! I am determined, ruthless and so focused on getting the £185 to fill up my CC and TRY with all my might to get as much together to pay my bike insurance..

It's awful having to sell our belongings to do this but they the materialistic gains we can get back! The peace of mind from being debt free will be worth it..

However I know what you mean about the deficit.. I'll have about £23 to live on each month if I don't pull in some serious overtime starting ASAP.. I just can't guarantee it and it's frustrating as hell.. Excuse my language... I know we'll find a way it's just gonna be hand to mouth each month and bloody hard...

Bought some Weleda body care sets on the cheap for my girlies Xmas presents... All 6 have gone on eBay for around £10 each.. And No.7 face wipes.. Every little helps..

Fingers crossed for one and all..

  • Hi ninja, I've been off the forum for a few days and now feeling very guilty and started to lose focus! So much so I bought a Marie Clare magazine - £3.50 ouch! Damn it... Free hand cream thou...
Sounds like you've been rocking the nsd, well done!
Still waiting to hear/receive cheque from the NCT sale - got an email to say end of next week, a little frustrating as I'm eager to know what I made!!
Anyways off to bed, to dream up my next money saving take over the world plan :-)
