Greetings one and all...
Kat-flu has descended on me and I am sat at home with my back against a radiator and the tabby taking my place in my bed. I have to keep a clear mind today as I am desperate to get more things on eBay.
Doodles you are very welcome aboard..!:T
I welcome comments about tithing. Yes 10% is a lot of money and instead of contributing the £961 I was aiming for thinking all my OT would pay off I was already down £200 when I decided I needed to stop just saying I was a Christian and practise what I preached thus paying another lump sum to my church... our faith pushes us forward and I believe it will come ten fold when I need OT to be authorised ( as now they are a potluck ) and that if I do as I am instructed it will come back to me in ways I require it... But yes it has set me back somewhat but even the £500 I added to my debts ON TOP of the £430 already going out can't be all bad..?
Abundant I was going to write that back into January's thread and forgot it really - but I think continuing with buying a coffee for a homeless person is nothing short of brilliant. Why walk passed someone who is down on there luck and might smell a bit - we are no better and need to be grateful for our situation as much as we might worry about our debts...
As you said in another post we have roofs over out heads, food on the table and warmth.. passing on a little kindness can only make things that much better!! SO yes I will be doing this as well...

So my target of £155 should be okay with month via eBay. With the impending move I am determined that it won't take 3 trips in a large van like it did last time. SO EXTRA RUTHLESSNESS is on the cards and I am even considering selling some teacups.....now you know I am SERIOUS!
I have now officially signed off Facebook and my goodness what a weight off my mind. I was thinking about it last year and never did it - it's not something I would have done because someone else has, I needed to realise that it was not contributing to my life at all.. on my own and in my own time.
I have made a pledge with myself that my life as it stands, my existence and my time will be used in the best way possible. I am single with no children and no real responsibilities and I am going to make every second count. I will have real friendships with email, letters and phone-calls. I will plan well and visit friends around the country like I said I would!
I will invest time and effort to really know, understand and evaluate myself. What can make me better as a person? Can I learn new habits that will enable me to become smarter, more intellectually capable and successful?
I will enable my time to be utilised in the best possible way and not wasted. Facebook is out and reading is in. When my landlady's son moves out and takes his TV back I will not replace it until I move - that's 3 months. I will read every book I have, I will "make do and mend" my clothes and still be stylish - I will make everything I do count! I will not be a waster!:)
Watch this space.. I am off to get some books on Amazon!

Anyway, to start, my plan is to try being ruthless and make a bit of extra pennies towards this. I have a lot of CD's which I have collected over the years that I want to get rid of. I have had a quick look at Ebay but don't really think I will get many sales on there, so I wondered if any of you kittens know where I can go to to sell them in one big swoop? Is there any where like those places you send your mobile to & they give you best price kinda thing?
Thank you for taking the time to read through EVERYTHING! That's dedication..:T.. I have used https://www.webuybooks.co.uk/ which I think have a sister website for cd's. They are particular though and might not return goods if they are not up to scratch... but I got money from them okay... if you have a mobile I have used Envirophone who send you a pack for posting it to them so you pay nothing. Same for weBuybooks... gonna do that all myself now!!....( thank you for gender, means I can assign you an appropriate colour...:p“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I agree. I do believe what goes around comes around. The more we push happiness and kindness out there the more we get back - however I think instead of asking for a favour from a friend be returned we should tell them to pass it on... one good turn deserves another and all that. But yes however small is always good...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. It was budgeted for but I felt very down about it... Then I bought DD a pushchair yesterday. A necessity, and a very good price for what I have bought, but still not a very MSE choice
Luckily it was all done before midnight last night so I started the new year with a clean sheet (albeit it had the imprints of last nights moneyspending..) A decent nights sleep and you will be right back on the wagon!
Your sanity and baby's safety are number 1. Don't feel too awful about it - something's are better bought to last especially a push-chair!!Happy - I dont know what food you feed your kitty kat, but i feed purina indoor and ive found ocado via money supermarket are doing half price £2.74 for an 800g bag ive bought 24 packs saved £55 and got a £15 voucher code and free delivery thats enough for 5 months im very pleased!
I feed her Tesco Value biscuits. And sometimes she gets meat to pad her out a bit. I have Dreamies in the house as a treat but I think I need to start looking for good deals like this and stock up - problem is I haven't got to many places to store it all! Afternoon lovely people
How are you all today? Boo to the kat flu! That doesn't sound good, although a bit of time off work to recharge your batteries is always a good thing! Read a bit of your blog kat (:rotfl:'d at the moggie pic!). Shall read it later when I have time to do it properly. I'm staying with my parents this week so, for the first time in ages, I have time to catch up with stuff (and shall make time for blog reading!)
Twiddler, https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk take unwanted CDs. They often don't pay very much but the procedure is easy and they send you a cheque fairly quickly. If you have your CDs, you could have a look at their website and see how much they're offering before you commit.
I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of my parents house. No rushing around, no noisy roads, no aeroplanes flying overhead...just the odd moo from the field at the back of the house and lots of chats (with my parents, not the cows).

Morning all!
Had one of my mad cooking sessions last night - 2 pasta bakes (I won't tell Hubby the jar of sauce said BBE Sept 12, what he doesn't know...;)) 2 lasagnes and there was enough to lasagne neat sauce left over to turn into chilli. Just threw in some chilli flakes, half a can of beans and some frozen peppers. Making smaller portions too (as part of our weight loss) so the food's stretched further, saves money too
Hubby asked last night how my bank account was looking but I'd already switched off my laptop. Think he's hankering after me putting some money into the holiday fund as he's not put much in this month. I am going to feel sooooooo smug tonight when I show him how much is left in my account even after a second payment of £200 to the CC (that he doesn't know about yet) and he is going to be ASTOUNDED!:rotfl:0 -
I just want to say you lot are *incredible*!!! I feel privileged to be part of this thread and to be able to read about everyone's lives. Thanks as ever to you Kat for your inspiration and dedication!!!
Two things I WILL DO this weekend:
1) Route out a work book I have been meaning to do (put keep putting off) which will enable me to do extra shifts at work and max out my earning power.
2) Spend 1 1/2 hours studying on both Saturday and Sunday. I really liked what you said about using your time wisely Kat. More and more I am seeing myself as an investment - I am the vehicle that will attract good fortune and I am the tool to go out there and grab opportunities - or make my own if need be. Studying and getting to grips with my job will give me a greater sense of worth and make me a more valuable member of the team.
I'm going to make myself indispensable!!! Plus - now I have this promotion - I'm going to look to what I need to do to get to the next rung. It may take me a few years - but if I have an action plan - then I know what I need to do. I'm also sitting on a counselling qualification that I'm not doing anything with... so - this year I'm going to get on board with that. I have my business cards but that's as far as I got - and now I feel rusty. So once I've got into the swing of it with my main job - I'm going to put plan B into action too.
That said - make time to play too!!! It's important to get a balance and recharge yourself with something that brings you joy!!!
