This thread has bounced back to life and I have responded to a point raised.
Do you have a issue with that ????
No not all don't get ya glasses steamed up.
So your not giving the correct information the fraud team number is;
You can call the fraud team on 0845 300 3983 ( Monday to Friday 8-8, Saturday 8-6 and Sunday 9-5)Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

The issue is that they do not authorise for the full amount. Only a small amount to test that it is a live card.
As such, as you point out certain cards cannot be used. Due to requiring the full amount to be processed when a auth is requested.
I'm not assed that's the wording and the policy for rbsg.
I'm sure they are happy with it otherwise it wouldn't be included in the banks terms and conditions.
So maybe "your" legal team and rbsg legal team should compare notes and swop ideas.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

So why does NW list a seperate number for cards blocked abroard then.
Or is it a case of they do not want customers to ring them 24/7 to clear security blocks.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Now who's steamed up.
Nothing to do with legal teams..
This is plain and simple how visa debit cards work.
You simply cannot use a UPT without it going for authorisation.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Possibly that's how rbsg want to operate.
They are not open 24/7 unlike first direct terrible isn't it.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Well clearly rbsg online debit cards are rigged not to do certain things like not work in a pay pump.
Just the same way other basic banks account cards act in the same way.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Correct.
NW are not the only bank to issue them and I can understand exactly why they do.
Same as prepay cards as well. They are not open 24/7 unlike first direct terrible isn't it.
Not just FD now that offer 24/7 support for lost/stolen and security checks. A quick check reveals Halifax & lloyds both operate 24/7
And yes it is terrible.
If I want to buy something at 03:00 and it hits a security check. I want to clear it then. Not after 08:00 or when ever the bank decides its open.
Seems the "Helpful bank" needs to up its game, as do many others now the world is open 24/7.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Considering you don't bank with Natwest why does it trouble you?
As I've said before you do not need to be a customer to make a compliant.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Because banking has a bad reputation and simple things like this annoy customers more than anything.
I have heard customers complaining because they have not been contacted after 1 hours when their card has been blocked on a security check. Even on a bank holiday... :rotfl:
Given that lost/stolen is open 24/7, it would be a simple task for the staff to have access to the security system to allow clearance of card blocks.
Would not even cost much.
A bit of training to work the security system. Couple of hours max.
And a few extra users access, if they have to pay per user.
I'll let you pop that idea on the site. As a staff member it may get you a few more brownie points....
I know thats how ours works.
:beer:Now lets get back to helping people and not bickering, please:beer:Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
