It's funny that it's the majority of iPhone users affected. Wonder if the carrier update baseband is corrupt?
Is that true of posters on this thread I wonder? Are people with non-iphones having problems too?
I was seriously considering signing up to a T-mobile contract but this thread has definitely made me think twice. Think I'll hold off to see if the issues mentioned on this thread are temporary and get fixed...0 -

I have the opposite experience. My T-Mobile identifier changed to EE a few weeks ago but there wasn't any noticeable change in coverage/signal until Friday.
Coverage at work has always been terrible (which is partly down to it being a basement type office) so I always had to go outside to make calls as it never got more than 1-bar inside.
On Friday, I noticed it was showing full strength signal bars inside and calls didn't drop like they normally do. I don't know how or why, but this is definitely a network change as nothing else has changed in that area.
(I'm not on using an iPhone btw)0 -
I lost my reception when the switch over happened and have made endless calls to Orange. I always had perfect reception at home, but now I only get reception in one (awkward) area and for the majority of the time I will get a text message to say that I have missed a call! If I do get to make a call the receiver has trouble hearing me ... made for a number of interesting calls to Orange ... the CSR kept saying they could not hear me so did not know what I wanted assistance with lol
While the issue is being resolved, I managed to get them to cover the cost of unlocking my iPhone so that I can use an alternative sim. I am just about to try the replacement sim they have provided!I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
I'm not using an Iphone and changing to EE has made no noticeable difference to my signal. It's always been hit and miss and still is. One day I can have full bars, next day I have none.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

I have the same problems and I use a Samsung galaxy s2. So g,ad other people are having the same issue. The thing is what rights do we have as consumers and what can get done about it?0

The sinking feeling I get is we are defaulting to T-Mobile 2G network which is falling to bits, several thousand Orange base stations are getting chopped as we speak until 2014 as they are transferring to T-Mobile/3's joint sites, very few are being integrated into TM/3 sites.
Having a 3G phone does not help, T-Mobile base stations by default will pass a call to 2G to keep 3G frequency free for data.
Orange Signal Boost was only way to make calls, my nearest Orange transmitters all less than a mile away are not connecting to my phone, they are connecting to T-Mobile base stations more than 15 miles away !!!SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Not sure I follow that - any chance you meant Orange in one place you said T-Mobile or TM? Sorry if I'm being thick.0 -
From a casual scan of the web, it looks like there are lots of people complaining about signal loss. This is one of the issues that genuinely the regulator could investigate.
I have always advised checking out your reception at home before entering a contract and had not too much sympathy with those who didn't and then found problems or those who moved home into a black spot, but this is something different.
If Orange/T-Mobile have changed something that has destroyed a previously good signal into someone's home, then that is something that is 100% down to the network and those affected should be released from the contracts if the network can't rectify the problem.
Getting EE to accept there is a problem is the main step and that's where an efficient regulator can help.
So I suggest that the regulator is asked to investigate and confirm if EE has, in fact, made some fundamental changes that truly affect users and advise on whether this breaks the contract for those affected.0
