  • ?????? What has changed is in fact I've gone from paying for a service I could use to a service I cannot use. It's my fault of course - I hadn't realised I was paying through the nose for something that isn't guaranteed - that was pretty stupid of me.

Have you tried manually selecting your network as EE (3G)?
  • I am having the same problem too. Iphone 4 and IOS6. Before the update I could go to a bad part of the house and it would go to Orange and I could then make a call, but now with the EE signal, that isn't an option. I have been living in this house since 1995 and until about a year ago I have had a good signal all that time. I could live with the problem if T-Mobile were honest and gave an approximate time for it to be resolved, but they keep telling me there is no problem. (and I live in London) Right now I don't care about 4g, I just want to make phone calls!

    See above.
  • EXACTLY the same happened to me..

I have had no problem switching between T-mobile and T-mobile/Orange networks until yesterday i recieved a text from T-mobile saying that the next time i turn my phone off/on again i'll be connected with the new carrier EE.

I did that this morning, and now I have no signal (even sitting in exactly the same location i was in last night when i recieved the text!)

Also I had been looking forward to all this 4G stuff.....until i saw the price plans.... I think i'll hold off until the other companies can start a price war!
  • So glad i stumbled onto this as I thought it was me going mad. Switched about two weeks ago and the connection has gone rubbish. I live in West yorkshire. Internet is slow and I can't seem to get a connection at home anymore (and I don't fancy standing outside in the cold just to speak!) Havn't rung them because I thought it was me. I've been with T mobile for 10 years but maybe its time to switch.

One wonders if its not to force users to the brilliant NEW EE4G where we all have same priceplans, bundles, extras etc & no retention deals are done...the price you see is the price you all pay (& France Telecom has millions of £'s coming in to clear its 30 million euro debt so why not have your lead currency of all your divisions do it).

Any 4G users on MSE ? Hows your 3G and 4G experience, one would guess better so word of mouth gets T-M/O cutomers "upgrading" to 4G.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • same for me. i'm in south wales and have 3 phones with orange (EE) and calls are disconnected mid way and keep cutting out. seems to coincide with 4g launch in cardiff recently.

It's funny that it's the majority of iPhone users affected. Wonder if the carrier update baseband is corrupt?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
