It could be that tmobile have disabled a transmitter
  • Hi put your postcode in here http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ This should tell what t-mobile or orange mobile phone base stations are near you.

The Orange/Tmob cell tower sites have not been updated on that site for years now.
Orange have not provided data since 2010, and Tmob since 2005.

If it is affecting 2 locations has a different phone been tried. Can it be coincidence that both locations that your BF uses suddenly have transmitter problems at the same time?

Does anyone know the customer service number for T-Mobile for calling from a land line? He will not be able to ring from his phone...

I found this freephone customer services number on saynoto0870 and have used it successfully this weekend 0800 9565000.

  • I've had this same problem. I've got an iPhone 4 and ever since iOS 6 was installed and I got the new EE carrier settings, my signal has been worse than poor. It's not an area thing because I travel and its the same in the south west, midlands and Yorkshire.

All T-mobile say is they aware of the problem and engineers are working to fix it. This was a week ago.

Orange 2G is falling to old One2One 2G - that network has been falling to bits for a decade...if I lock to T-Mobile for better 3G my calls hand to 2G and the signal means broken calls, im not looking forward to a EE signal that stops roaming as im stuck with poor call quality
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Existing customers that were set up on an Orange or T-Mobile contract also happen to be seeing this transfer. In fact, it happened to one of Android Central’s devices which was followed up by some unfortunate issues with web browsing over cellular data. That said, it’s apparently messed up the signal on some of the handsets and/or the transfer wasn’t done properly. I say this because Android Central was able to ring up customer service where they were able to update some different settings to change over to EE and then they were back online. So, to me, it does sound like an issue with the transfer if settings were not updating properly. Android Central noted that you should keep that in mind in case you have some issues with the transfer also.
  • I've read with interest the various replies - I have the exact same problem - as soon as EE appeared on my iPhone I lost the ability to connect to the Internet at home unless through wifi.

I've contacted orange who said there was no reason for this - when I told them that there appears to be a lot of people in this position he agreed!!! I can make calls but the Internet is just useless. I'm locked into my contract now for another year which to me seems grossly unfair given that the terms of the contract have in essence been changed without my consent. Clearly the law on contracts has changed since I went to law school!

Can you expand on what changed in your contract? (Whether for real or in 'essence'). Coverage has never been guaranteed, and this is stil the case, unless you are referring to something else?
