  • Hi all,

I'm new here but felt I needed to register as I too have been caught out by this scam today.....I feel so silly as I'm usually really hot on this kind of thing - no sure where my head was.

I placed an order this morning with KetonePremium.com and as soon as I did I knew I'd got myself into bother - tried to cancel but of course couldn't get through to anyone to cancel the order before they actually dispatch it to me. Why should it be that easy....they're in the market to make money not lose it!

Has anyone had experience of this company - probably they are all linked to one of the same and just operating under different names/products? I've still had no order confirmation sent through either but of course they have already debited my account for the postage charge.

I have contacted my Bank (Barclays) but they said that even though I have cancelled the card I used to place the order, the compnay can still continue to take payments as they only need to use the first 12 numbers of my card to continue debtting me. I also emailed the company to cancel the free trial and any subsequent auto shipment orders but realise that they are using some kind of third party email system (kayako.com) so I doubt I will even get a response from them.

The also tried to cancel on the phone but the automated phone system only gave me a PO Box No in Ireland (PO Box 113, Shannon County Clare) and a RMA # which I barely managed to jot down it was relayed so quickly. They really do try to cover all angles to make cancellation or refunds as difficult as possible.

Not really sure what to do now, the Bank tell me to wait to see if any further payments are taken and that they will act then and request some kind of recharge - but this will be the procedure when and if / each and every time my account is debited by them. As for returning the products not sure I should bother - they belong in the bin! What was I thinking!! :(
  • i was also stupid enough to use this scam. i returned the product within the 14 day trial period but was of course still charged the £75 . is anyone able to tell me if this will be it now or will they continue to take the money monthly even though i am not recieving the product? thankyou.

They will continue to be taken out monthly I'm afraid. You need to cancel the card you paid the P&P with.

  • I was duped into this scam as well. My bank HSBC have said as I have cancelled my card they cannot take money out because they need the security code at the back of the card. Has anyone been charged after they have cancelled there card?

I have to ask myself why so many people would want to waste their money buying pills that don't work anyway? ;)

  • I too fell for this i have spoke to Rbs who have cancelled my card and advised that this scam of a company cannot take any money from my account as I've cancelled that card, I still feel scared about it though should I send the products back? I haven't even opened them

  • I fell for this scam too...I ordered it a few hours ago and realised after ready the T&C's how bad it is. I phoned them and cancelled my account through an automated service whether or not this works god knows. I still have not even received a conformation email about the order but the P&P's out the bank... Makes me sick
  • Hi Everyone,

I'm new but registered because yesterday I became victim to this scam on the KetonePremium.com site. I got there from reading a magazine article online, th ewebsite looked legit and it had the verisign stamp etc, so I went ahead and ordered the free trial..... I knew something was wrong straight away as when I entered my card details it didn't take me to the verified by visa site and took me straight to an order complete screen. There was no order number, nothing showing the total amount I had paid, all it said was that I would receive a confirmation e-mail in my Junk. I waited 2 hours and got no such e-mail.
I then started to panic and realised it was a scam, I read the T&C's and it said that they will pass on my details including my bank card details to other companies. I phoend the number on the site and all I kept getting was a silent line, and when I e-mailed the customer support trying to cancel, it came back from a kayako.com address, completely unrelated to the website - stating there is a 72 hour delay in replying to e-mail. I found this thread and saw that everyone was saying the exact same thing and then got straight on the phone to the bank.
I bank with HSBC and I must admit they were brilliant. I advised what had gone on, that I had seen the thread on here about it and they cancelled my card immediately. They said they won't be able to take payments out as I will have brand new card details and security number. They also said that once the postage payment has been taken out I can call back and have it refunded. I have e-mailed the customer services again for what its worth, to cancel the free trial, but I doubt I will get a response.
The only thing I am still worried about is they have my address details and name....can they do anything with this?
I have never ever been victim to anything like this before I'm so careful online but this website was good, it had all the right stamps and totally led me on. PLEASE PLEASE BE AWARE!!!
  • Hi all,

In response to 'pinkheffalump' - as per my previoius post, I also fell for this because of their clever use of marketing and mocked up magazine articles which appeared to be legitimate.

I cancelled my order on Friday 4th almost immediately after placing it and got in touch with my bank but they advised that further payments can be taken by this company as they only need the first 12 digits of my card number (I don't know if when I signed up to this I actually agreed to some kind of direct debit giving the company authority to charge me as and when they wish (as if I were buying the product on a rolling monthly basis (as per the auto ship option)) I don't know for sure!

I received a standard response from them indicating that they couldn't cancel my order as it goes straight to the disribution centre (clearly they have no manned phones there either!) but then they will only reply to any queries within 72hrs, but which time the products have probably already been shipped out.

They said that I will be charged on day 14 of the trial period but that if I don't wish to pay for the products, I will be fully refunded once I return a minimum of half the order back to their County Clare Po Box 113 address (how convenient). I have no intention of trying these products, god only knows what they put in them, they're also indicating that I purchased patches but as far as I know I only ordered the tablets. Obviosuly they are underhanded and quite devious, typical of companies who scan consumers.

Clearly they are not trustworthy and are unlikely to do right thing. I'm loathed to waste any further money in returning the products to them but seeing as my bank is telling me that they can still debit me despite the fact that I cancelled the card I used, I'm not sure I can risk it.

I'm still undecided as to what to do next but I'm waiting to get a response to my latest email.
  • Hi All

This is an appalling scam which has now reached the UK. Your CC company should be able to recover the money under the UK Distance Selling Regulations because......

They only supply 30 tablets, yet the purchase is for a 30 day supply which is 60 tablets. Consequently the order has not been filled and therefore the distance selling cooling-off period has not even started.

If this does ot work then contact ukecc dot net (I'm not allowed to post links in case I am a spammer :()

also email the MP for Shannon (their Irish base): Pat Breen

also email their web site host: slimtoneplus dot com at domainsbyproxy dot com

    and let them know they are hosting a scam site;

interestingly they have changed the address to: slimtoneplus.org.uk
which is registered to a George Burns whose London address is given at: who.is [forward slash]whois[forward slash]slimtoneplus dot org dot uk

If this fails then just pester them.....

keep emailing them asking for detaisl such as:

what's the address of your legal team?
    what's your address in Ireland?
    what's your address in USA?
why do you claim the products are made in the UK when they are made in USA?
why do you ignore distance selling laws?
why have you changed your web site address?
how many complaints have been filed against you?

they probably will not give a valid answer so we can just on and on and on........ :rotfl:

Here's another helpful link, google "slimtoneplus scam" and scroll down to the post entitled:

    Best of luck.
