Hi all and thanks Loopy Lou for starting this thread. I would like to join you all if that's ok. I haven't read it all through properly yet, but I am now single and would love to get debt free.
I am 40 now and split up from my husband 4 months ago. He always spent and I couldn't say no to him. So now starting all over again on my own as a single parent. But have so many ambitions now. I have just started studying to become an accountant and want to clear debts and buy a home all on my own. I'm renting a 2 bed flat at the moment, but miss having a house with a garden. So onwards and upwards for me.Make £10 a day challenge - January 2023 = £292.89/£310 - Feb 2023 = £677.09/280 - March 2023 = £102.45/£310 - April = £300.12/300 - May 2023 = £306.80/£310 - June = £245.88/£150 - July = £295.45/£310 - August 2023 £51.56/£3100 -
Have just been reading through is thread as a single guy, I had to get my hard hat on before I replied seeing as us men seem to be getting a bit of kick in on here.
My debt is very much all mine and all my own fault (gambling) but I am getting it under control after my LBM back in August when I really didn't know what I was going to do next. I am now on the right track (I think) but it is going to take me a long time to repair the damage that I manged to cause in just 5 months.
Guess I could do with a little suport when at times my DFD seems so far away. Oh and I'm 29 by the way!
Hey!!

Yeah that does help give me some ideas on how I could spend less and make cut backs. I have already started some of the things you mentioned, I would love to be able to work from home or even a liitle closer to home as I am spening about £320 a month on petrol!!
I know it sounds only small, but can you get a nectar card and collect points at least on the petrol? - then you could use the points to get money off necessities/food shopping?Total Debt: was £8,400 / now £0
