thanks for telling me how to change my signature!

I recently consolidated my CCs to a 0% balance transfer CC and plan to pay it off by the end of the 0% period so not going to take part in the challenge but have recently started ebaying to earn some extra cash to put towards paying off the debt and will also start a small part-time business in the new year to supplement my income - if all goes well.

    Morning Muhren,
how is the avoiding gambling going? Are you staying strong? x

    Morning f7tgu8!

Yeah it's going well thanks. I have a tally on my chalkboard in my kitchen which I really need to count up. I think I am over 60 days now with the first milestone to reach being 90 days.

Are you looking at a no spend day today?

Thats GREAT news!!! Well done you!! I like having a "visual" of things I am trying to achieve too, hence the signature :T
As I work from home, its really easy now for me to have a NSD.....I pre-plan my meals in advance, buy what i need, and then I TRY as hard as I can to make every day a NSD by having friends over for dinner etc. So this month, we are on day 17, and i have had ONE day so far where I have spent money - a grand total of £4 for some repair bits i needed for the house :T
I tend to plan which days WILL be my spend days rather than the other way round - so this Saturday, I have planned to have a spend day with a friend and a takeaway :j
So for the month of October, i SHOULD have two days only where i spend any money :j
Every £10 I spend, i have realised, with interest etc, will ALWAYS cost me more than £10 at the moment..... Im DETERMINED to get debt free...and then a £10 spend WILL just be £10!!
    How about you?

Maybe you and Southern Belle could do a "raise EXTRA funds by Christmas" challenge?

I am aiming for £300 within 100 days (the challenge on here) and make £5 a day so the extra funds are definitely happening!

I am also trying to get as many vouchers as I can for Christmas shopping - I have £20 at the moment, with £20 near payout and another £5 hopefully for SB by the end of the week.

I will be honest, my months are more likely to be the otherway round! I have spent 20p today on coffee and will have another one later as I'm finding with longer hours and more travelling than I have been use to since I started my new role I really need it to get me through the day!

As for going out I am finding it really hard as most of my social activitity revolve around going out with my mates to the pub (who'd have thunk it eh!) I went out for a mates birthday on Friday and didn't drink, lets just say I didn't enjoy it!

I am going to have to follow your lead and try and have more NSD but it's going to be tough I think!

Congratulations on the new job! Things are on the up for you :j
Im not a drinker, so i guess its easier for me in some ways. Well done on the no drinking for the birthday - being debt free will feel a lot better than a drink or five every friday. If youre a footie/rugby etc fan though, could you "host" a lads evening? Have everyone round to watch the game, and ask everyone to bring some booze/chip in for a pizza? Might just break up the more expensive nights out with some cheaper ones?
And to pay for the more expensive ones - challenge yourself to "raise" the money to go out with by seling some bits on ebay etc?
Anyway of cutting out the coffee habit? Making your own at work etc? Taking a flask? (tell everyone you cant bear cr*p coffee, and you have to have your own posh stuff from home!)
