It's been a beautiful day today. Apologies for throwing the thread off kilter. I'm not really a bad person. I suffer from depression and anxiety and have the social skills of a squashed tomato.

I wont be posting again. It's not for me.

Aww, we don't bear a grudge here, and nobody thinks you are a bad person. We can't all agree all the time - nothing new would ever be learnt! If it's not your cup of tea, then fair enough, but feel free to drop by with a wave :hello:

Changing the subject entirely, but still a winter thing ;) I have discovered that I can make awesome chicken soup! I have a stomach bug and didn't dare have proper dinner so I made it this evening and I have fallen in love with it so much I am going to make it again tomorrow :D It will be handy to freeze a few portions so I don't have the bother of making it if/when I get sick again.[/QUOTE]

Hope you feel better soon. Do you mind sharing your chicken soup recipe please ?

  • Feels freezing here in Cardiff too, I'm having my porridge before heading off to work. There was a frost earlier but think it's cleared now, think this may just ba the start of things to come! Voucher in the Mirror on Thursday for Aldi, going to get 2 copies so I can stock up on essentials and get all of my christmas bits in. I live over the road from Aldi & even in the awful snow of 2010 when no buses came through my area for weeks they had their deliveries every day. Was my saviour being able to still pop over there and pick up anything I fancied!

I left just after 6am and it felt very chilly but oddly no frost or mist that was forecast. Does feel much chillier than yesterday.

Glad I had my gloves ;)

  • I woke up freezing this morning! I had to go and get a hot water bottle and tea and get back into bed. I feel okay now as I've warmed up.
  • I don't know about the rest of the country but it feels like winter has arrived here in Hampshire this morning, what a good job we've all been busy preparing! Today I only have to go out to walk Docky this afternoon and have all I need to make a warming lentil and tomato soup for lunch and sweet and sour chilli and coriander sausagemeat balls on hot vegetable rice for supper and a lot of other things too, Mmmmmm good stuff eh?

  • Hi all, I've been reading but haven't been posting lately.

Kittie, we have decking too and it’s a death trap in winter.

The weather has really turned here, I need to knit faster, so far I only have half my hat done! I do have a hat but it gives me hat hair so I only wear it on the way home from work/stuff. I'm knitting a slouch hat so I can wear it in the mornings too - isn't vanity a terrible thing?!

I have bought 2 more LED bulbs so can do the diner part of the kitchen diner. They are expensive so I'm doing the house a room at a time, most used lights first.

And at the weekend I got my sewing machine out and made a new draft excluder for the front door - the old one was too short for the door and a bit of bodge job. I even put a zip in so that I can take the stuffing out (old, clean socks and tights) to wash it all and put it back together afterwards.

Not wintry here yet, 7C and sunny - but the Scots weather forum is getting very excited about Dec and the white stuff.. :j:j
  • Thank you for the kind responses. :A

I do need to take a break from the internet as it can eat up too much of my time and energy.

Anyhow, I have some bread baking in the oven, and I'm going to do a bit of tidying around the house. Quite nippy today!
