Still eating out the freezer, need to get mine empty for Christmas & also because a lot of it has been there for a while. The food cupboard is coming down nicely too. This weekend plan to re-org a lot of stuff, everything is a bit higgledy piggledy in there so want to be able to find gravy instead of buying another & then finding 3!

Once that is in some kind of order I can restock canned goods. Have plenty of dried goods, pasta, pulses, rice & lentils but need easy heating things, like soup, beans etc as well as the old trusty, pot noodle just in case we do get a power out.

oh, also need to restock the UHT milk & hide it, OHhas a bad habit of using it if we run out of fresh rather than visit the shop 2 minutes away!

That's what I do, I have a thorntons hamper & various chocolate oranges & others but if they are in the loft I never think about them but if I keep them downstairs I'd eat the lot.

I wouldn't fill the freezer if you're expecting power cuts. I run mine down at this time of year, don't trust the power to stay on in bad weather here.

Same, I also like mine empty for Christmas. Then left overs, carcasses etc can be stored for later.

    kittie much appreciated as always.

I think in general terms I only need to look at our car preps. The school run is over the road. DH could walk home if he needed, although very long it's quite doable and on safe roads. I am on zero hours so therefore not obliged to work, if it is too bad to drive I will request I do the local calls and do them on foot.

All that thought is fine but I do do a lot of work out of the area and snow doesn't just appear before 7am so winter car preps are my priority - they so should have been sorted by now!

Scots weather forum talking about a change coming, some of them using charts and some using local knowledge as farmers, so I'm listening!
