I have hard about peeling and cutting an onion in half and leaving it in the room with smell.
Think it worked in a pained bedroom for me once, not sure if would be any good.
I do this just cut an onion in half and place in a shallow bowl of water works excellent overnight.Thriftkitten

I was thinking the same, normally we see her post the odd warning and with the gales around at the moment it's strange to not see a post from her. Hope she is ok.Thriftkitten

we bought a indoor line thats up in kitchen we pop clothes on there last thing at night and usually dry by morning had to ditch the normal drier as cat kept sleeping on it and covering the clothes in fur so this way he cant and it seems to help cut down on damp as they dry much quicker

I know I'm busy blocking draughts and turning down the heating when no one is looking, but inside of me is a 10 year old ready to throw a tantrum. WHERE'S MY SNOW!
A few weeks ago the papers were headlining we were in for the worst winter since 1947, heaps of snow from December onwards etc. outside its wet and windy but actually quite mild.
I absolutely LOVE snow. I love the way the light catches it in the evening, walking with a crunch while the cars don't venture out. DH and the kids having to miss work/school. Looking at wildlife footprints in the morning to work out what nocturnal visitors we had.
I know some people hate it and it undeniably causes problems, but to me a proper winter needs snow.
Rant over! (I hope I'm not the only one who likes snow or I will sound crazy to everyone else here

yes been really mild here too, I'm NOT complaining, but there is a 10 year old inside of me harrumphing and stamping it's feet too!:AA/give up smoking (done)

Oh no, please don't!!! I am absolutely loving this mild weather - don't mind wind or rain but please no ice or snow. It stops you going to work or social stuff (not that I do much of that but still!) It's a pain taking the dog out. It's treacherous going up the lane to see to the chickens. I'd voluntarily stay at home for a fortnight and not see anyone but when it's forced, like earlier this year, it goes on forever. Oil and other fuel prices go through the roof, keeping warm is a daily - no hourly - concern. Digging yourself out is healthy and keeps you warm, but when you've dug a trench and it fills itself in overnight, the novelty of digging quickly wears off.
Please wish the snow on yourselves but not me in the peak district.
I thank you!!0
